Princess Diana, the queen of hearts, whom the English did not get over even after 23 years

If her driver had chosen the second time on August 31, 1997, the People's Princess, as the then English Prime Minister Tony Blair called her, would probably be alive today. However, her life had a different fate, so she ended up in a Paris hospital four hours after her Mercedes, in which she was with her fiancé Dodi al Fayed, crashed into the wall of the death tunnel due to the high speed at which he was driving.

Lady Diana Spencer was born in Park House, Norfolk, to a little-known Earl family in 1961. She was born married to Earl John Spencer and Baroness Francis Burke Roche, and had two older sisters, Sarah and Jane, as well as a younger brother, Charles. Her father was the chief groom of Elizabeth II, but also a descendant of the eighth generation of counts. Her parents divorced when she was only seven years old, due to her mother's affair with a married man.

The divorce had a more than bad effect on Diana's upbringing, which took place on her father's estate, although she often visited her mother, who remarried soon after the divorce. When she was 16, she left high school, but after a year-long break, she finished it in Switzerland.

Prince Charles, when they were already forcing him to marry in that period in order for the crown to secure an heir, was in his thirties when he met Diana. They got engaged on February 6, 1981, but this news was officially announced on February 24, and they got married on July 29, 1981 in St. Paul's Cathedral in London.

On June 21, 1982, Diana gave birth to her first son, the second heir to the crown, Prince William. Diana soon fell into postpartum depression and tried to kill herself by throwing herself down the stairs. One of the attempts to save the marriage was the birth of another son, Harry, who saw the light of day in September 1984. But, the princess then discovered that she was suffering from bulimia, which, as she later realized, had been following her since the engagement. The cause of bulimia, as Diana stated, was Prince Charles, who convinced his then fiancée that she was gaining a lot of weight.

Since the birth of Harry, Lady Diana and Prince Charles have not shared a bed, and their sex life has been limited.

What the public didn't know before their wedding was that Diana and Charles had seen each other only thirteen times before marriage, and in an interview shown only after her death, Diana revealed that he had seen his ex-girlfriend Camille Parker-Bowles before the wedding.

"Before we got married, he saw his lady three times a week," Diana said, alluding to Camilla, but she also recalled the interviews they gave after the engagement, which instilled a grain of doubt in her mind:

- During the engagement, a reporter asked us if we were in love. I replied: Of course, and Charles added: Whatever infatuation means. It completely destroyed me - said the princess who thought that in time it would melt the heart of Prince Charles. He, on the other hand, was very upset that his chosen one had become a media favorite and the number one target for persistent paparazzi.

At a 1986 polo match, Princess Diana met the great playboy Emad Dodi al-Fayed, the son of billionaire Muhammad al-Fayed and owner of the famous department store Harrod’s. Their romance began almost ten years later, when Diana divorced Charles.

On Sunday, August 31, 1997, half an hour after midnight, Princess Diana and Dodi al-Fayed, after dinner at the Ritz Hotel, set off on their last trip in a hotel Mercedes. Driver Henry Paul and Dodi were killed on the spot in a crash on the wall of the Alma tunnel along the Seine, and Diana died four hours later in the hospital. Only Dodi's bodyguard, Trevor Reese Jones, survived.

At four o'clock in the morning in the Paris hospital La Pitie Salpetriere, Dr. Bruno Rionge announced that Diana passed away due to the consequences of internal bleeding caused by severe injuries to the chest, lungs and head. The question of the cause of the accident has not been resolved, and probably never will be.

Everything is covered with a veil of secrecy.
