What really is true love.
Back then in secondary school there was this friend I had, Jumoke . It was our first year then - junior secondary, and She always talking about a particular guy that sat right in front of us, Chika. I noticed she had a huge crush on him but wasn't willing to let him know. Then, confessing your feelings to a guy was really a thing of mockery when exposed to the public eye. So she kept it to herself, although he kind of noticed
In our third year, we were to write promotional exams for the senior secondary level. By then they had become really close, but as friends though. He had a best friend, Ayo who hinted her that chika also liked her, but she dismissed it, saying it was just a mere crush. One certain day she was in the laundry washing her clothes, when a girl approached her, Esther, telling her she also liked chika. She was also close to this same girl and she knew about her feelings for this guy. Esther and Chika had attended the same primary school but she never spoke to him till secondary school level. Jumoke being the kind girl that she was, stepped back and started convincing Chika to date Esther.
Eventually, they started dating and Jumoke was comfortable with it. I decided to confront her and ask her if she was really comfortable with it, she explained that seeing him happy was what mattered even if it wasn't with her, that if she had been in Esther's place he might not be happy. There was a time he actually asked her if she wanted this, she affirmed. Like for the first time in my life, I questioned myself if true love really existed. If it were to be I that was interested this same situation I wouldn't do what she did.
She still talks to him even after our graduation, although they are not still close as before. She doesn't regret what she did, and those feelings keep developing despite the distance.
