Emotions are usually associated with dramatic feelings such as intense anger or intense pleasure. Emotions don't just talk about certain feelings. Emotions are feelings that arise when a person is in a situation or interaction that is considered important by him. Emotions are represented by behaviors that represent (express) comfort or discomfort from the situation or interaction being experienced.

The feelings we experience are usually referred to as emotions. Emotions are expressed in specific terms such as pleasure, fear, anger, and so on, depending on the interaction experienced. Examples of links from interactions experienced, for example, are threats, frustrations, surprises, or fun things. Emotions can also be vague, such as the feeling of discomfort when in a new situation or the feeling a mother has when holding her child.

Emotion Classification

There are many different forms of emotion. Emotions are usually classified in various ways, but basically all of these classifications see emotions as positive or negative. Positive emotions include joy, love, and enthusiasm. Negative emotions include anger, anxiety, guilt, and sadness.

Where Do Emotions Come From?

Emotions are influenced by various factors, especially biological factors and cultural factors. Biologically, it is said that emotions come from human facial expressions that are innate and not the result of learning. Expression is universal in many cultures around the world and is the result of the evolution of emotions in animals. Psychologists today believe that emotions, especially facial expressions and emotions, have a strong biological basis. For example, a child who is blind from birth and has never seen a smile or sad expression on another person's face may still smile or be gloomy like a normal child.

Cultural factors in emotions explain the characteristics of humans on each continent has its own characteristics. For example, in societies with individualist cultural characteristics such as North America, Western Europe, and Australia, their emotions display long and intensely. Meanwhile, Asian people tend to close their emotions if there are other people around them. The rules regarding when we display emotions also depend on what emotions are displayed. In Asia people usually focus on social relationships. Emotions such as sympathy, respect, and shame are displayed more often by Asian people than people from Western countries, but negative emotions that can interfere with communication will be very rarely displayed in people of Asian culture.

Biologically, humans are emotional beings, but attachment to a particular culture as well as relationships with other people provide a variety of emotional experiences for humans. Emotions are the colors and music of life. Emotions also bind humans to coexist.
