Overtime, the advancement of science and technology in the globe which as a matter of fact has been extremely beneficial to the human race, cutting across all sections of our day to day activities, making work easier, increasing productivity and time managing factor.

How ever, most of this advancement has many setback; Radiation effect is one of them, as is is known that radiation is caused from the transmission of energy in form of wave, it can be transmitted through light and most of most of our electronic devices like cell phones, televisions, microwave and other big machines like the x-ray machine.

Radiation exists as a part of nature and is beneficial to humans, in health care aspect, it has been adopted in medicine and is used to treat diverse diseases like skin disease and cancer. It is used in radiography (smoke detectors), and for food safety as well.

As useful as radiation is to mankind, It can be extremely dangerous too as too much exposure has harmful effects. It can damage the DNA in our cells, and can also cause cancer later even though it is used in cancer treatment as well.

More also, exposure to radiation has many other effects on health and it includes heart failure, seizures which can lead to immediate death, damage of blood vessels, and can also weaken the immune system and make victims susceptible to infections.

However, radiation exposure can be minimized or avoided by putting a distance between yourself and any source of radiation like the ones mentioned at the beginning of this article, avoid body contact with cell phones and every other radiation source, always take a shower when exposed to radiation.

Reducing the time of exposure too is important, don't stay too long where there are emission, hydration (drinking enough water) and eating well are also ways of minimizing the effect of exposure to radiation.

Radiation is as harmful as useful it is to human health, stay safe, stay protected.
