Infected by covid
We are quarantined again. We were first infected with covid last spring, and we weren’t too well then.
For the first time I was really tired all the time, my head hurt a lot, I had a fever, I got cold. The flavors and smells were gone, and perhaps it was the worst because it hasn’t disappeared without a trace since. A few months after the illness, I started to get disgusted with meat and all meat products, salami, ham, and so on. For about two weeks because of this, I absolutely didn’t consume meat, sometimes I tried but didn’t taste it, and then after a while it passed. But sometimes it comes back and that’s when I feel all the meat products stink and smell bad. I don’t know if it will ever go away completely.
But now I don’t have strong symptoms, I’m not really sure I’m sick. A little runny nose, headache, but nothing serious. However, my partner’s covid test was positive, so it’s likely that we’re all infected. None of us are vaccinated. My sister and her husband have been vaccinated and they have been infected for a few weeks now. They have 4 children, only one of whom survived the disease without symptoms. However, the other members of the family were very ill. One of the girls ran on all fours between her room and the bathroom, the youngest child having a fever of 40 degrees. But my sister and her husband suffered the most, they could barely get out of bed.
The husband's throat was most affected by the disease and his throat was so swollen that he could no longer swallow his saliva, let alone food. He was constantly coughing up secretions which made him constantly gagging. My sister was also very ill, but I think the worst thing for her was that she had to worry about her husband. She said if her husband fell asleep she listened to his growl and counted how many times he took a breath. Horrible! The doctor gave them antibiotics and medication for covid. But the doctor told her about the covid medicine that he would not take it. In addition, they had to sign a paper stating that the drug was being taken on their own responsibility and could not blame anyone for any consequences. That's pretty scary, right?
What would you do if you had to sign a document like this and your doctor said he wouldn't take that medicine himself? I would be afraid of that drug, and my sister did the same, they didn’t accept this drug, just the antibiotic. The antibiotic helped at first, but then the husband got worse again, my mother took them a blood oxygen meter. Anyway, luckily they got help, my mom and her partner brought them food and what they needed. They hung them on the fence. Their neighbors were nice too, they baked pancakes for the kids and they hung it on the fence too. It feels good to know that there are people in this situation who will not leave us in trouble. So they got a blood oxygen meter. The husband had a high fever again and his blood oxygen levels were also critical. They called the doctor who advised them to call an ambulance and take the husband to the hospital. However, paramedics have said that as long as the blood oxygen level rises from time to time, it is not necessary to go to hospital unless it is consistently low.
So until you're not bad enough to see the light of heaven at the end of the tunnel, they won't take you to the hospital.
Eventually, fortunately, they began to get better and have since recovered. But it was all very scary.
I am not anti-vaccinating or pro-vaccinating. I'm not vaccinated, they're vaccinated. Yet they suffered more from the disease. And I can’t blame their weakened immune systems or anything like that, although my sister has illnesses, but her husband is a strong healthy person, he was still in the greatest danger. Of course, this may have nothing to do with vaccination and even worse things could have happened without vaccination.

It's so good to know that your sister and family are doing okay. My family back home were not vaccinated but all were hit with the virus but thankfully they survived. We really have to strengthen our immune system vaccinated or not. We shouldn't be complacent just because we are vaccinated. Stay safe!
