OFWS ARE BREADWINNERS, BUT SOME FAMILY MEMBERS WANT THE BAKERY? An OFW once shared with me these stories: ▪️ A brother asking for extra money for a “business” ▪️ A cousin asking money for her niece’ birthday bash The OFW asked me, “Is it an act of humility to provide for these requests, even if it’s hard to do so?” Maybe. But at the same time, giving in to these non-important requests is sending a wrong message. They would think that it’s okay and won’t feel that money is a problem for you. Sooner or later it will become a habit. So how to deal with it? Two things: TS (“Ti-is”) 1️⃣ T for TOUGH LOVE If you are married with kids, your spouse and your own children are your priority. It is not your role to provide for the wants, and even the needs of your relatives. But, as embedded on our culture, we do this out of love. But giving is not the only way to show love. Say no. Not giving them everything doesn’t mean you love them less. Loving does not mean you give all they want. You wake them up from the toxic mentality. You need to let them realize that you have a family of your own to feed. If they feel bad, take it, even if it pinches your heart too. That’s the only way to help them stand on their own feet. That’s what TOUGH LOVE means - you teach them how to become responsible. 2️⃣S for SELF CARE OFWs often neglect caring for themselves because they are too busy taking care also of the extended family - ate, kuya, pinsan, pamangkin, tito and tita, etc. Kumusta naman ang sarili mong pangarap? We don’t realize, as we work diligently abroad, we could already be in a position to reach our dreams. But when giving becomes an obligation, we deprive ourselves of that opportunity to work on our personal goals. Because the finances that we could have invested in ourselves go to the family back home instead. Giving is a noble act, a very selfless gesture - especially when done with joy and a cheerful heart. But if it’s becoming a burden and not out of the overflow of the heart anymore, we have a problem. Don’t wait for the day that what’s left on your plate are just breadcrumbs because you gave them the bakery. Courtesy to Boy Dubai And As I may add some thoughts also. Or panawagan to OFW out there hustling to provide for their families please prioritize yourself. Don't let them be dependent on you, don't let them make you a milking carabao. It is nice to help and give but always make sure it is essential or urgent. Take note: Have limits when you are the giver, because the taker don't have any 🤭 said by one of the commenters

It's my birthday today👻 I woke up 11:49pm Nov. 2 because my baby daughter needs to put on her crib swing so she can sleep. And I put her beside her mom which is my wife so when she is starving she will just roll om her side and latch on her mom's breast. This is our daily or midnight routine which I am not getting tired off. I have two amazing woman in my life. One who supports me and one who gives me strength to hustle in life. Keep hustling till we give our families the financial freedom what we're dreaming for.

In this All Souls Day, we commemorate our department love ones. We pay visits to their graves, offer foods and flowers. Gather and have a reunion. Introducing to new family members etc. For me this month is special to me because it is my birth month. I am born November 3rd. How amazing my day is because Nov. 1 is All Saints day and Nov. 2 is All Soul's day where I was born November 3rd. I am always wondering why I didn't born on those first two days? Is my mom strategically want me to be born on Nov 1 because of Saints day but doesn't happen and postponed it on Nov 2 because of Souls day. But regardless of which I am always grateful. Mom and Dad. I know your in a bettee place now. Also my Grandmother's please guide us and pray for us.

Good morning peeps 😁 We experienced sudden earthquake, a big strong quick earthquake where it feels someone just push or rack our bed. It is a 6.7 magnitude earthquake whose epicenter are in Abra, Phivolcs said that it is an aftershock of the July 2022 earthquake. We are a bit worried with the event because we have a baby and we care of her safety. We got out of our house immediately aftee we felt the earthquake but my father in law commands us to go in the upper floor of our house because he thinks it is the safest place. Hoping everyone is Okay and none of us have been in danger or experiencing great loss.
