Adolescence, lamb, bambino, progeny, mini-me; all these words we use to describe our youth. Many people believe that you raise a child in the way he shall go so that when he's older he won't dwell away from the aisle. They presume that what they teach their child when they are youthful will stay with them throughout the rest of their life. For the most part, this is true, children mature to be their parents in more ways than they want to believe. They have the same manners subconsciously, and it's shocking to the bone when the realization occurs. This brings a serious question to mind, if parents are the only reason why the children are the way they are when they grow up, what makes of the murders, thieves, rapists, etc. delinquents that we have today. Every time a loving parent finds out their child became something that they fear, they always act surprised as if it's difficult to believe that their boy would do something so harsh and derogatory to another person. They are hasty to find a scapegoat for some of the errors that they brought as being a parent. One of the fatalities parents like to use for their offspring's attitude is technology. Saying that if they didn't let their son watch those violent television shows as a child, never let them play violent games such as Grand Theft, that if they were shielded from the "immorality of technology" that their child would have evolved up different. Violent media and video games are not the justification for violent behavior when one becomes of age.

Researches have shown that ninety-seven percent of all children between the ages of twelve and seventeen play violent video games such as the call of duty and the God of war. Games like these are actually all violence; nothing but killing, some sort of warfare, and teenagers love it. The youngsters that play the game realize that this is only a game, and they can't go out and do the exact things they see in the video. Another point is that everyone gets disturbed and angry at some point during their life and they use different ways to get their wrath out; some use music, others use sports or even art. Studies show that out of the ninety-seven percentages of kids play violent video games, eighty percent of these children that are in high school use these same violent video games as a vent of aggression. They stay in the house and play their games, and not go out doing something that they will regret. These video games give the teenagers the relief to do the things that they would like to do to others without actually going out to do these acts of violence.

Violent video games have broadened the perimeter for young people to get more involved with their country. Scientists have done studies, and it has shown that over the decade, the amount of people interested in working in the military and law enforcement has increased exponentially. Half of the people that talk to the recruiters and representatives ask whether or not the exercise they are taught playing call of duty is both applicable and whether any of it is true. Same thing with Grand Theft Auto and Need for Speed and shows and movies such as Arrow, The Following, The number of people that desire to cop to help cat the crooks of the world legally have increased. Violence in the Media is not all bad. This shows that because of these types of games it made them question if they could do this in real life, would they? Many of these individuals try to get into the military but can't because they can't meet the physical requirements, but still brings back to the point that if one plays enough violent video games, it could motivate them to do right for their country.

They want to be able to go and fight and help show that America has the best military in the world, even if it is only because of Call of Duty attics. These violent video games have helped promote patriotism.

In that respect are many individuals that will the argument that violent video games and media are the reason why we have so many violent criminals among us today. The statement is wrong because the amount of violent crimes such as murders and rapes has decreased according to FBI files and studies. Criminals today come from a bad background, whether it's being abused by the parents, being moved around from family to family, being consistently hurt, all things that could make one mad. The role these games play in this is minimal compared to what really goes through their mind. This realization brings up one serious quest; why are these children being ridiculed and being punished for being exposed to the violence of these games when they should be praised?

All in all, violent video games and media play no part in the cause of violent activities in an individual. Violent video games and media have encouraged many of these young people today to become more involved with exactly what is going on around them in and out of

their country. They are an outlet for many of the people which makes it safer
