Hello everyone,it's a new day today,the beginning of this week and hope we all spent our weekend well, weekend has gone,we all have alot to do this new week before weekend comes again,so what's your plan for this new week? Have you set any goal or you are just going to sleep and watch film alone this week,get ready to leave that your comfort zone,good things don't come out of the comfort zone,you have to go out and brace yourself self for that new task ahead of you. Have a lovely week.

Now let's move on to today's topic,am going to talk about arachnophobia (fear of spiders),there are people who have phobia for spiders and thereby affecting their life anytime they see this insect.

Having phobia is more than fear, phobia can limit your ability to work efficiently,it interferes with your daily routine,alot of people dislike spiders,we hate seeing it around us but having phobia for it impact and affect lives.

Spiders can be irritating but they have importance, most times it helps get rid of some dangerous insects like mosquitoes or using their web to catch them,we know as tiny as mosquitoes are,they are more dangerous and they cause malaria, spiders have their importance which some don't know,they are not dangerous as we paint them to be.

Spiders silk in history has been used to make bandages, some of the scientist also use it to load antibiotics in bandages. Spiders known as golden orb is very common in Australia,their web can be used to catch bats and birds because their webs are very strong. They are also good at hiding themselves,they want to be left alone,they run whenever they feel the presence of someone,they are not agressive as we think they are.

Phobia for it can hinder you from playing with your friends or family,you feel anxious when anyone talks about it,you feel threatened with the sight of it, either the web or spider itself, thinking about it alone sends shock through your body or keeps you up at night when you think about it.

Arachnophobia is mostly developed during childhood or adolescent,it is mostly found in 15% of the entire population and mostly that percentage is common in women. Women develops fear more than men, little things makes them anxious,that doesn't mean men don't fear too but it's more in women than men.

These symptoms helps you to know if you have phobia for spiders or not;

  • Freezing whenever you see it.

  • Upset stomach,you just want to throw up.

  • Sweating or shaking at the sight of it.

  • Highrate in the beating of the heart.

  • Difficulty in breathing.

  • Dizziness,you feel you lost your head or something,feels like your head is banging.

These phobia can be caused by

  • Childhood experience-maybe you have a terrific experience with spider when you are little,I could remember I watched one American movie like that,this lady developed phobia when she was little,she saw a big spider where her mum died so she thought it was the spider that killed her mum,so ever since then she has been scared of spiders,till she grew up, because of the knowledge she had about it,so it may be caused by what we experienced when we are little,(now talking about phobia generally).

  • Seeing one's parents getting scared of it- while growing up you might see your mum getting scared because of spider,it tells you otherwise too,it makes you feel the same way without knowing why.

How do you get rid of arachnophobia-fear? These two therapy will help you get rid of it.

  1. Cognitive behavioural therapy - this happens when you see a medical specialist, saying some of your experiences,how you developed it,and where and what happened to you when you see it. These questions and helps you get proper view on it,they will try to explain to you why you should not be scared of spiders and many more.

  2. Exposure therapy - these therapy expose you to the real thing you are scared of,these therapy is highly recommended for people with phobia of something,they make sure you see the picture of what you are scared of or brings you the place,in the instance of spider,you see the picture of the spider or you see the spider in real ,they believe it you start seeing it everyday and you know it won't harm you,it start reducing your fear little by little. The more you see it the more you are less reactive to it.

This is interesting to read and to see that there are therapies to help solve this problem in an individual is great. I donĀ“t get scared seeing spiders, instead, I kill them whenever I see them around me. I donĀ“t like seeing it, even the web too.

Yes, thank you, alot of people don't like it too, we don't like seeing it around us but some people extremely fears it.
