It's not just our home that is shaping us to be the person we can be as we are growing up. The society also plays a huge part in our life. The way people treat us in society and their of living are the ones that drive us to become the way we are right now. If they are good to you, more likely you'll take them as an example and be a good person, too. If they don't have morals or manners, it's either you'll despise them or accept their ways.

Too bad, there wasn't a lot of society wherein you can live peacefully, out of harm, and out of cruelty. From what I can see, there's no such place as that. No matter how good the people are living at your place, there are still a few people who are prejudiced with a lot of things and will spit out unnecessary comments that can cause a ruckus around your place.

They can't respect other people's preferences and perspectives. They can't accept innovations that are currently happening and they will continue to stick with their sick old ways. They can't bear to see people outgrowing, overpowering, or getting more successful than them. They will discriminate against people which are not like them or those who can't fit in. Such a cruel thing to see, but it's reality.

I happen to watch an anime this morning. I'm just at Episode 7 out of 12 episodes but I learned a lot already. Though it's a fantasy and somewhat gore due to the killings, it's worth watching. Initially, I just got interested since one of my favorite voice actors is the protagonist. Little did I know that it is Gold. A vampire anime with the title, "Vanitas no Carte", or simply, The Case Study of Vanitas. I don't like vampire characters that much, but the brief history at the beginning, got me hooked up.

Here's a synopsis,

Vanitas is a vampire born under the blue moon, which color indicates an ill omen or a curse. Vampires born under the red moon discriminated against him and chased him out of the place. As he wanders in the snow, he vowed to take vengeance against them. He made a powerful curse that no one could disperse and wrote the formula in a book. The curse spreads through generations which leads a vampire to vampire wars and vampires against humanity. As time goes by and the wars have been settled, the curse still wanders. Then a human appeared, called himself Vanitas, claiming he is the successor of Vanitas, and the book was passed on to him. What's more? He vowed to save the vampires which are in contrast with the original plans of his master.

Having said that, don't they deserve what they got? And yet, Vanitas gives them a chance to redeem themselves. Though they only treated him as a threat to the race and a curse maker. Society just brought him;

  • Discrimination

It's like being different is a sin. They can't accept what's different and new to them. An innocent generation was still affected though it's the ancestor's fault as if sins can be inherited. Just because of a folklore, an innocent's child future is ruined.

  • Classification

Status is more important than moral values. If you're not of high status, you don't have value. They looked down instantly knowing what your class in the society is.

  • Abuse Of Power

Those in the higher position can do what they want. They felt they are the Gods of the society that whatever words they spit out, would be the law. They use power to corrupt people and take advantage of every way they can make use of it.

  • Violence

They will use violence to settle things out. The strongest and the bravest will win. They wouldn't care no matter how many lives would be affected just so they can achieve their goals.

  • Betrayals

You can't indeed trust even the one who is closest to you. It's hard to tell who is true and who is not. You'll just wake up one day that the one who you cherish will be the one who will stab you in the back or even in front.

  • Darkness

They portray this as fog and parade which brings curses in the anime, also the curse spreader demon. In real life, the fog in your head will be the one to lead to your dark side which is brought to you by the demons around you.

It's inevitable to experience such things in society. Every human is unique. We all have different perspectives and preferences on a lot of things. Maybe if we could just listen to one another and have se respect, we could make those things to happen.

Understanding each other was impossible na, the fact alone pa lang na we are different people with different perspectives, and beliefs. Respeto ang magpapaisa sa napakadaming tao. We may not be the same in beliefs and origins, but we can co-exist, ika nga.

Hahaha. Right! That's why I said, maybe. 🤣 If we can at least respect each other, even so that idea is also impossible.
