I recently had read a book about self-improvement. It was about changing your negative mindset and self-motivation. It was a kind of soul uplifting approach that can boost our self-confidence. I feel like sharing those pieces of advice so please take time to read.
I thought this will be the right time to write such a topic like this since I read some authors here are struggling with their writing experiences. It's somewhat can decrease one's self-esteem especially when a person is new to a place or a beginner at things.
There is always a first time in trying out new things. No one starts being a professional at things they just knew.
Criticism will always be a part of your journey. I better suggest you would dodge it as long as you can because if you get hit, you are doomed.
Here is the synopsis of the book I read. I hope you learn from it. The book is called "Unf**k Yourself: Get out of your head and into your life" and is written by Gary John Bishop.
Convincing Yourself
I think the first step you will take to boost your confidence is convincing yourself to make a change for a better version of yourself. If you can't do this, nothing will change. You are still going to be that scaredy-cat having anxieties every time every opportunity appears.
"I am willing..."
By the means of convincing yourself, you need to mark these words on your mind. I AM WILLING... If you are willing to take steps to change or to level up, everything will follow.
"I am wired to win..."
When you think of something, negative or positive, and you planted it in your brain, whatever you think, your body will start to act to acquire that goal. Maybe, you are not even aware of that but if you wired your brain onto something, whatever it takes, your brain will win it.
Take this for example.
If you think you will fail, you start having anxieties until you start messing up because you overthink it. Then, another moment comes, you got a bad feeling about it, you overthink again, you act without thinking properly, and you messed up again. In the end, you failed.
If you think of success at the beginning, you start to come up with positive ideas to bring solutions to your problems. You can think calmly and deliberately. Even though you failed once or more, you don't give up and that's because you wired your brain to win that success. Until then, after many trials and errors, you succeed.
As you can see, whatever goals that you set in your brain, you will reach that. So, if you want to acquire more positive outcomes in your life, think more positively.
"I embrace uncertainty..."
There will always be a time that a moment will come into our life, unexpectedly. We can't say that we are prepared for that. Then, it is better to say that whatever it is, you can manage it.
"I am not my thoughts; I am what I do..."
The things that we are thinking about ourselves is different from what we are doing. Here are some situations:
You are always criticizing others because you think they are wrong. You didn't realize that you are already acting so mean to them.
You are not okay but you act like you are fine.
You worry too much but you didn't approach them to let them know. You appeared ignorant even though you always think of them.
Try to synchronize your mind and your actions. Then act what you think.
"I am relentless..."
When we want to achieve something in our life, we inevitably encounter such things that trying to ruin our hard work. Don't let this distraction defeats you. You are stronger than you think. Even if you progressed very slow though you never stop, you can still make it. Let those criticisms be your stepping stone to achieve what you want to be. Don't let them stop you. Take one step at a time and move forward unceasingly.
"I expect nothing and accept everything..."
By expecting nothing and accepting everything does not mean that you just have to accept whatever happens. This means that you should not expect victory or defeat when you plan. You should plan for victory but don't expect that you should win because you made a plan. Just stick to the plan and accept whatever the outcome of it.
If you lose, then accept it and start all over again. The chances are everywhere; you just have to grab on to one again. If you win, accept it but don't get too overjoyed about it like the game is finished already. Just remember, there will be another chapter of your life after that. Then, you will have another starting point and another goal again.
