Its been over 30 days since Apple released the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 pro. a lot of iPhone users are still in dilemma on which iPhone they should buy between the two. Here today on read cash I am going to share my honest opinion on which one you should get between the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro.

The new iPhone 13 series comes with improved battery life and is one of the biggest camera upgrades on an iPhone in a while. Both smartphones share certain similarities as well as differences. The iPhone 13 has a starting price of $799 for the base model with 128GB storage it can go up to $999 for the 512GB model. As for the iPhone 13 Pro, it comes in at a price of $999 for the base model with 128GB and it can go as high as $1499 for the 1TB model.

The big question is should you spend the extra $200 to buy the iPhone 13 Pro over the Regular iPhone 13? This post will help give you an idea of the right one for you.

All the iPhone 13 series devices this year come with a smaller notch when compared side by side with the iPhone 12. Apple confirmed in their event that the notch was released by 20% but when you have it in your hands you will be quick to forget that. Being honest the design coming from iPhone 12 didn’t change that much. The iPhone 13 and 13Pro are just a little bit thicker than their predecessors from last year.

We have a new set of cameras on the iPhone 13 and 13 pro this year and we have the dual cameras of the 13 arranged diagonally. The iPhone 13 Pro has three cameras and the bump is relatively large. Apple used a textured matte glass for the rear of the 13 Pro which is more premium. They used the standard glass we are used to for the iPhone 13. The frame on the 13 pro is made of stainless steel while that of the 13 is made of aluminum. Both phones are dust and water-resistant by the way. There is nothing much in the design aspect that will make you decide on which one to buy.

iPhone 13 Pro vs iPhone 13 – Display

the iPhone 13 pro and 13 both have the same display size at 6.1 inches which is okay for one handed usage. They both have the new Super XDR OLED display which is bright outdoors. Talking about brightness the iPhone 13 has 800 nits of brightness and it peaks at 1200 nits in HDR mode. On the iPhone 13 Pro, we have 1000 nits of brightness and it maxes out at 1200 nits outdoor. The display of the 13 pro is typically brighter when placed side by side.

Well here comes the biggest difference we have a 120Hz refresh rate on the iPhone 13 Pro. Apple calls it a ProMotion display and it is an adaptive refresh rate. The display on the 13 Pro can go from 120Hz down to 10Hz depending on the area you are scrolling at a time it also saves battery. The high refresh rate makes scrolling smoother and it also brings out animation better.

The iPhone 13 misses out on the feature and it's sad to see honestly. High refresh rate display has been prominent on android phones since 2019 and even sub $300 android phones come with a high refresh rate panel nowadays. In this aspect, the iPhone 13 Pro is surely ahead of the iPhone 13.

Performance – iPhone 13 vs iPhone 13

All the new iPhones that were released this year come with the new Apple A15 Bionic chip. The chipset is built on a 5-nanometer process and comes with six processor cores. Apple claims the A15 Bionic is 50% faster than the leading chipset it's competing with and we all know it’s the Snapdragon 888 by Qualcomm.

In terms of the GPU, the iPhone 13 has four while the 13 Pro has five and they both perform well. They are better than their android competition by 30% and 50% respectively. If you want to play games on your iPhone then I advise you to buy the 13Pro because of the higher graphics performance and adaptive refresh rate.

Battery Aspect

Apple improves battery across all the new iPhone 13 series devices this year. The iPhone 13 Pro has an amazing battery life and you can get over 8 hours of screen on time under heavy usage. Using the iPhone 13 you are guaranteed to get almost 8 hours of screen on time under heavy usage. Battery life on both devices has been improved upon coming from the iPhone 12s. you can get a full day of battery life on both phones if you are a casual user.

They improved the charging speed slightly but when it comes to charging speed they still can’t beat some cheap android phones. The 13Pro still has a better battery life but the battery of the iPhone 13 is also decent.

Camera Comparison – iPhone 13 Pro vs iPhone 13

All the new sets of iPhones come with improved cameras and we have dual cameras on the iPhone 13 and triple cameras on the 13 Pro. the main sensor on the iPhone 13s is a new 12MP main camera and it has improved night photography. We also have a new faster 12MP ultrawide sensor that delivers impressive details.

Apple was hesitant to introduce macro mode but the macro mode on the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 is amazing. It is the best macro camera on a smartphone I’ve had enough of the crappy 2MP macro cameras Android manufacturers give us. The macro mode is better on the iPhone 13 Pro without a doubt. We have an extra telephoto camera on the 13 Pro that is lacking on the iPhone 13. The camera delivers solid zooming ability on the iPhone 13.

In terms of video, we have the new cinematic mode that is great but I’m sure Apple will improve it. both phones can shoot 4K at 60 frames per second with all cameras and they are the best smartphones for videography you can buy. The cinematic mode gives you great autofocus and depth of field we can call it portrait mode video. iPhone 13 Pro has the advantage in video by using ProRez, the feature is targeted at professionals that want the best video possible.

Final Verdict

The iPhone 13 is the best iPhone for everyone but if you want more in terms of battery, camera, and display they the 13 Pro is the best. To get the best photography and video then you should accept paying the extra money for the Pro model. The high refresh rate might also be a game-changer and a solid reason why you get the 13Pro ahead of the 13.
