The great ship, Titanic sailed for New York from Southampton on April 10, 1912. She was carrying 1316 passengers and a crew of 819. At the time, however, she was not only the largest ship that and ever build but also regarded as unsinkable, for had sixteen water tight compartments. The tragic sinking of this great liner will always be remembered for she went down on her first voyage with heavy loss of life.
Four days after sitting out while the Titanic was sailing across the icy water off the North Atlantic, a huge iceberg was suddenly spotted by a look out. After the alarm had been given, great ship turned sharply to avoid a direct collision. Suddenly there was slight trembling sound from below and the captain went down to see what had happened. The noise had been so faint that no one thought the ship had been damaged. The captain below realized to his horror that the Titanic was sainking rapidly, for five of her sixteen water tight compartments had totally been flooded.
The first thing that comes to mind when you think of the Titanic ship is the heroine Rose. The movie Titanic was very romantic. Thanks for pointing out so many beautiful things to us
