Hello my dear friends of read.cash, how have you been these days? I hope you are in good health, love, everything hahaha Today is a great day to be happy, like every day, so I wanted to talk to you about a different topic, gold, the liquid gold that our little friends work all their lives to be able to give us some.

That nice and sweet yellow, orange or brown liquid that we love so much. Its color, taste and smell will depend on the type of bees and the flowers or plants that these bees visit. Sometimes we observe in the supermarket that one bottle of honey is different from another in color and that perhaps one liquid is thicker than another. It is not that one honey is the right honey and another is not, this will depend as I said before, on the type of bees and the plants or flowers from which they collect the nectar.

Oh I just remembered the taste of honey on a delicious toasted bread, it made me hungry. It has been many years since I tasted a single drop of honey, because of its price which is quite expensive, so I will continue to eat bread with honey in my memories...

The activity dedicated to the breeding of bees with all their care to obtain and consume the products created by them is called "Apiculture". In beekeeping not only honey is obtained, there are several products that can be obtained since bees not only produce honey, they also produce wax, royal jelly and venom.

Different products have also been elaborated from honey, such as facial cream, shampoo, hair conditioner, etc.

Bee Friend

The bees fulfill a specific function for the development of the honey, with all their team work they guarantee a correct development in the process and a good quality honey, all this process of elaboration lasts approximately 45 days.

The first step in the elaboration of honey is the collection of nectar, where the adult worker bees (21 days old) begin to fly over the flowers to extract their nectar rich in sugars. If the beekeeper wants a honey from a specific flower, he has to sow the flowers he wants to pollinate near the hives, in this way the honey is made with different flavors, smells, textures, etc.

After our bee friend has collected the nectar from the flowers, she ingests it and stores it in her abdomen, with this she manages to change the pH of the nectar by combining it with the enzymes that she possesses, at the end of this process she returns to her hive and gives that nectar to other worker bees that are younger.

The young worker bees extract this nectar and break it down with different enzymatic digestions where this compound has mainly a large amount of fructose and glucose, which is why honey is sweet and has a high calorie content.

To avoid excess moisture in the hive, the bees use their wings to fan the cells and avoid excess moisture in the nectar. After this, the bees begin to seal the cells so that the honey is properly preserved.

When the new nectar created by the bees binds with the enzymes and wax, the honey starts to get that characteristic sweet taste.

And that's how that great teamwork goes from collecting nectar from flowers, ingesting this nectar and adding the necessary enzymes, breaking down and adding other enzymes to that nectar, avoiding excess moisture to create this delicious liquid gold, also known as honey.

But bees are not the only animal that works well as a team, there are also ants, wasps, elephants, etc, etc, etc. It seems that man is one of the few animals that sometimes find it difficult to work as a team haha.

Note: If you are near bees and they are collecting nectar, they will not sting you unless you start bothering them. Bees are our friends, please take care of them and don't hurt them.

Note 2: In the following video you can see a part of the process of how beekeepers harvest honey.
