Analysis and Interpretation
Inside Out is a movie depicting Riley, an 11-year-old girl who loves to play hockey. However, her positive and loving personality changed and turns upside-down after her family moved to San Francisco. Riley finds it difficult to cope with the sudden change in her life and couldn’t hold or control her emotions which is technically typical to kids even in real life. Due to her incapabilities of managing her emotions, her life trembles even reaching the point where she runs away from home.
While Riley is busy trying to understand her emotions and adjust somehow to her new life, Joy (Riley’s emotion) tried to help her but her family’s unprecedented move, makes Riley sad which brings her emotion inside, Sadness in the frontline. Joy and Sadness tried to help Riley which made them reach the faraway side of the protagonist’s mind leaving behind anger, fear, and disgust in the main headquarters which makes the problem worst to the point that it almost ruined everything about Riley but thankfully Joy never gave up and finds her way back to the headquarter together with sadness and the core memories they have lost. Throughout their journey, Joy discovered and learned a very crucial lesson that in every bright and joyful memory there is always sadness behind it and that all emotions will follow depending on how the person carries it.
Conclusion
Change is absolute and nothing is permanent, this is true even in outer space so we have to learn how to adapt to the sudden change in our lives. Our emotions are so powerful that a failure in handling them will surely make our lives in trouble as well as the people around us. Taking care of these emotions will make us better person so, balance every emotion we have, if we are happy, we should never forget the reason why we are happy and the emotion behind our happiness.
