Locusts invade Maharashtra, An alarming news for Bangladesh
Since a week Maharashtra, a state of India are facing a severe attack of Locusts. Most parts of india are now under these Locusts attack. And it is spreading so faster than expected according to the Indagator. The district and agriculture department in Maharashtra have initiated chemical spraying on crops and vegetation to save them from Locusts attack. After crossing Pakistan, swarms of Locusts entered India through Rajasthan on April 11. Union Environment Ministry of India has stated that, locusts Swarm have entered in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh. **It also stated an alert for Capital Delhi and all the neighbouring countries around India.** **Pakistan is facing the worst Locusts attack sinch, March 2020.**
Locusts are known for feasting all sorts of plants and standing crops. It is a insect like grasshoppers in the family Acrididae that have a swarming phase. This insects are usually solitary but under certain circumstances they become more abundant and change their behaviour and habits, becoming gregarious. Locusts are considered as one of the most dangerous type of insects because of their ability of swarms to fly rapidly across great distances. Wherever the swarm settles, they consume most of the green vegetation. They end up all the plants and crops they rove over. As a result, agro-economic conditions of the country fall down badly. People suffer from food scarcity.
**Note : Locusts do not travel in the night. The migratory pests travel during the day time and fly as per the wind direction.**
As Bangladesh is one of the closest neighbouring country of India, there is very good chance of getting attacked by Locusts Swarm in Bangladesh. Even some of the areas like Teknaf, Bandarban are already facing this migratory pests from last of April. Agricultural Ministry already start to take necessary steps to prevent this severe attack. In this Covid-19 pandemic people are already facing food scarcity. If this Locusts attack destroys our agriculture sectors people will die for food, people will die being hunger in Bangladesh. May God save us.

Yes it will extremely aggravate the world economic condition. I afraid for the poor people who lead their life from hand to mouth .

It is a horrible news for Bangladesh, if they are able to come here, we are in a big trouble, they can destroy our agriculture.
Yes. This will aggravate our economic situation. But i wish we will be prepared for this kind of attacks. We have experience to handle this situation.
This is a very bad news, should I say it's even worse than covid? Cause we need food to survive
Yes my friend this is undoubtly worse than Covid. Many poor people will die starving. Food will become vastly expensive.
Food is our one of basic ..i just pray that all on these facts in 2020 are just swiped away..I don’t know what will be happened..but we have to have faith on The Almighty.Dont worry my friend..everything will be alright.

This is aweful! Do they have any idea where or why this plague started? Can it be the weather circumstances changed or did the lockdown cause it? With only few people outside nature can boom. I hope the spraying helps. 💕
Most probably this plague started from Pakistan as i know. In the earlier years, it was found in Africa continent. This plegue are weather dependent as these are mostly observed in summer.
Didn't Pakistan tried to spray them? It would have helped your country a lot. What about natural enemies? No one eats them?
I am also afraid of this thing .Locust are spreading on many countries and destroying the crops.we will have to face a great disaster if it comes to bangladesh!

2020 has gifted us pandemic. Cyclone amphan and now locust. Waiting for more. I want to go back to 2019 and start a new year.

India is facing so many big problems at a time. Alongside pandemic corona they faced cyclone amphan few days ago and now the locusts are creating problem. I watched video of jaipur, billions of locusts there, horrible. Bangladesh is in danger also..
2020 is horrible year in the era of life.it's totally a curse for man. MAY GOD help us from this danger.
We will surely face poverty problems if it invades here. Oh my God what all left to see in this 2020?
