Why is it called phosphor? Because It has an element called Red phosphor, which is as I said on the box, there are 2 types of phosphor, the '' integral '' and the '' security ''
The integral is the one that has the red phosphor, sulfur and potassium chlorate in the match, it lights up on any rough surface and it was dangerous because by shaking the box they lit up, if you rubbed 2 matchstick they lit up too.
In 1844 they separated the match from the phosphor and placed it on the strip of the box, which makes the match light only by rubbing it from the box.
