Today we all suffering from different types of stress. It can be Physically, Mentally or Emotionally. And one of the most common stress we encountered is the Physical Stress due to our works inside and outside our house.

When we feel stress in our body our muscle felt pain and other parts too. The most common part of our body that usually suffer from it is our Neck, shoulder, and spine or back.

As we grow older we do not perform the proper body mechanics to prevent the stresses on our back. We usually slouch our back while sitting.

If we do not correct our body's posture we might have nodules or taut bands. Taut bands or nodules are those skeletal muscles that sometimes we felt some twitches on it or those small ball like in our muscle. And it is commonly found in our shoulder.

The muscle in the photo is the Trapezius Muscle which has upper, middle and lower fibers (photo link: https://www.nielasher.com/blogs/video-blog/trigger-point-therapy-treating-the-trapezius) . It is the most common muscle that experience nodules and taut bands. You can palpate it in your own.

You can palpate your trapezius between your shoulder and your spine. It is the muscle that is painful on your shoulder when you carry heavy objects.

Home remedy

This case is common in Physical Therapy Rehabilitation because majority of us suffer from this kind of stress. So the best way to treat this are...:

  1. Proper posture education - chin up, chest out, stomach in.

  1. Proper way to carry objects - before we carry objects especially when it is heavy, we should hold the object and bring it closer to your body and do not bend your trunk. Best way is to bend your hips and knees rather than your trunk.

  1. Hot compress - heat can relax our muscles and can release the stress. 15 to 20 minutes applying hot compress can help to relax our muscle and apply mild massage to help lessen not only the muscle pain but also the nodules on our muscle

We need to take care of our body so we cant feel and stress and pain. Pain may cause many things that stops us to work.

Even without pain you can still perform the 3 above.
