Your Secret's Out
Shhhhh it's like staric on the radio a low
humming just under audio range,
They're all looking at you and nobody
with make eye contact, that's strange,
You hear soft sniggers and some even
openly use your name as if in disgust,You
guess at last your secret is out but how,
what, why are you really fussed?
You knew this moment would eventually
come as silence never lasts,
You had a good run of it and beat for a
while the gossip mongerers' forecast,
They've been baying for blood ever since they got scent of a whif of scandal,
Some people live for.stirring the pot or
biting off more than they can handle.
Yes they love the thrill of spreading news
and having a little guessing game,
There's nothing better to them than
implicating everyone else by name,
Until something sticks or someone clicks and all falls gradually into place,
Oh they'll talk about you behind your
back but will never tell it to your face.
The secret you were once so ashamed of
does it feel half as bad as it once did?
Have you come to terms with it or do you
still wish it was buried and hid?
Little sniggers, disapproving looks, will it
all just blow over or ever go far away?
Who's the breach? Are they in reach? Or
will you shrug it off to say fair play?
We've all got our little secrets but it's
whopping deceit or lies will find us out,
Don't be thinking you'll get away with it
for you'll be caught, have no doubt,
Prepare your alibis early or invest in a
backup plan for when that time comes,
Can you hear the whispers? what price
for misdemeanors or repeating felons?
