For the Sake of Fame...

Have you come across some people who are willing to do awful things for the sake of gaining popularity?

May it be in a physical setting or in virtual world like social media, we can't get rid of this type of people. Those who wants to be noticed by lots of users and to be considered as famous for such things that could be positive or negative in nature.

It's not actually bad to get attention from other people because we all have our own rights and freedom to do so, but exceeding on the limit needs an immediate action or solution for it to not cause huge damage.

I remember some people in different social media platforms who are gaining popularity because of their talents, skills, wisdom and kindness. They should be the one considered as true influencers because they are spreading positive vibes to everyone, and not compromising the knowledge gained by their audiences especially the youths.

Those influencers who are showing how humanity works by sharing kindness to everyone around them even if they are not related to those persons, just genuinely helping their fellowmen, are worth to be followed and supported.

However, influencers who are gaining popularity because of their negative actions are terrible and not worthy to be idolized. I know, some of you who are reading this have someone in your mind that you can relate here. Those who are just doing awful pranks, fighting issues, scandals, inappropriate challenges, and etc, are not worthy to follow.

Maybe you are familiar with some couple influencers who are exchanging rude comments to each other, and keeps on dragging their private lives in the public's eye so they would be the center of attraction, and their popularity will rise.

The funny thing about this kind of influencers are when they are demanding for respect and privacy when in fact, they are the one who dragged their private lives outside their boundaries. If they really wanted to have a privacy, they shouldn't gave the public an opportunity to meddle with them by not posting or showing anything about their issues in life.

This is not impossible to do so, since there are some personalities who never dragged their private issues to the public, and look at them now, they are not receiving awful bashing or hates from anyone.

But still, being popular means being prepared from hates and negative comments, but if we were them, knowing that we didn't do something wrong to be bashed will free us from guilt.

Since our society is full of gossipers who are making some issues for the sake of fame, the plan of getting huge attention is very easy to execute and achieved.

Others are also willing to hurt themselves just for the sake of popularity and making huge amount of money from it. Even if their image will be stained and might be hard to bring it back again into its clean state, still they are willing to do everything just to turn their plan into reality.

I therefore conclude that gaining popularity depends upon what actions were done to make it happen. If you want to be popular by doing the right things, that could be an impressive act. Otherwise, if you want to be famous by doing terrible acts, I think, that will never be acceptable at all. No matter what excuses you have, that won't save you from the sin you've done.

Aside from that, we should also consider our audiences with our actions in different social media platforms or even in the physical setting.

We should make contents and actions that will not adversely affect the mindset and behavior of the public, but rather, influence them to do positive acts and inspire them to be the best version of themselves.

That could be more satisfying and flattering enough to be famous by spreading positivity to everyone.

The world is changing and so, we should change our mindset too. Like, popularity can't only be gained by showing a bad impression to the public.

Let's normalize being popular by removing toxicity and replacing it with more valuable things, like real talents and skills, kindness, love and respect to each and everyone.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Gaining popularity is not bad at all. As long as we are doing the right things to make it happen, we won't be chained in guilt.

But, we should also remember that popularity is just a fad, means it won't last long. Don't always focus on doing things just for the sake of fame, it's better to leave a good legacy to everyone by having a much more valuable purpose and not for the sake of our desired popularity.

Make such actions in which the purposes are not self-centered. Actions that intend to uplift, inspire, and give hope to those in needs.

Author's Note:

This is the worst trend I have seen on social media and I hate it. Good to see you light up on this thing.

It pained my eyes seeing those trends as well, but instead of getting influenced, I'd rather ignore and find more valuable and morally good contents.

Yeah, you're right, there's nothing bad in gaining popularity, but it depends on the manner and the way we gain it.

Sometimes I do wonder how some some people do go any length not minding what will come after it, just to search for popularity and fame. It's an eye sore to our society. If we want to Gain all those things, it should be in a decent way , a way that pleases God. Thanks for this beautiful message that you pass across.

Yes, it's better to gain popularity in a way that it's in accordance to God's teachings and will. Gaining popularity in a decent way will leave more legacy and can last long, rather than being popular because of negative actions and behaviors.

Unfortunately, those awful things are in and trending especially to the youth. Some influencers are just making up some stories or pranks to gain views and of course to become famous.

Exactly, they are just making contents that are not moral and substantial but rather promoting bad values to their audiences.

Most influencers I see get where they are by promoting bad values and bad behavior. I still haven't seen the first one who isn't promoting bad things like being overweight for the sake of views, a fake self-image for the sake of views, disrespecting parents and family for the sake of views. โค๏ธ

Sad to say, bad influencers are more dominant than the good ones. That's why, we, the audiences, must be wise and intelligent enough to choose who we are going to watch and support.
