Today's Investment, An Asset Tomorrow!

You have a message to the world, it is so clear you can't wait to share it, impact lives and become a leader. So good!

You can't wait to become that person you have always dreamt to be. Great!

But are you inclined to move through what it brings?

A lot of people get stuck at this point in life, they became ecstatic and overwhelmed by what they should be doing. By so doing, they avert the growth process. Finally, they crash along the way.

They forget that a blind man can't lead a blind man.

Whenever I read from great men and women, I'm encouraged. Encouraged to submit and endure the pain of growth.

These great minds paid the price yesterday and today, they reap from that investment. They put you and me into consideration back then and today, we drink from their brook of knowledge.

Don't be too eager to be in a certain position that you forget to learn what makes you effective.

Not minding what you do now or where you are, you have to feed yourself before you can feed others. Don't be a starving leader. You can't lend what you do not retain.

If you're so eager to deliver the message you've got and impact lives, then, let that be your driving force. Let it push you towards development and self-investment.

Help yourself and the personalities placed in your care by embracing growth.

Give room for development, one day it becomes a source that develops others.

Did you know that seeking a perfect start is an excuse not to start?

Oftentimes, humans try to overlook the fact that growth doesn't happen in a day, not even in a week. We try to jump from infancy to adulthood without passing through the adolescent stage.

We try to grow big without starting small, we don't want to start imperfect and become perfect.

I have seen a lot of people wait for a perfect start, a beginning without a scratch. They just want to grow in a day. They want to be known in a jiffy. They don't want to be patient and take the right steps.

This could be because of fear. Fear of being tagged an amateur, fear of coming out to make mistakes.

Let's see it this way. A child trying to take his first walking steps. The first attempt will never be perfect. He will fall, cry and try again. Sometimes, the child, tired of falling over, prefers to sit looking.

Funny enough, the little child at this stage doesn't know what it means to fail and be mocked. He still tries to walk. One day, he stands properly and begins to walk towards his mother. Finally, the baby steps, the falls, the bruises all make him walk.

Why do you find it difficult to take baby steps?

Why do you despise laying the right foundation?

Why can't you think like that child and be focused on the growth you desire?

Why are you afraid of taking baby steps?

Know that, waiting for a perfect start is an excuse never to start.

Be free to make mistakes. Be free to start small and grow big. Be free to have an imperfect start and become perfect. Be free to make mistakes.

One day, just like that child, you'll walk towards your dream and embrace it.

Before You Accept And Dwell On That Opinion, Weigh It!

Her name is Gold. An ambitious lady I am yet to meet physically. She's got big dreams but recently, she told me she was confused.

Why? I asked her. She told me she was desirous about doing something; a spectacular one.

What then is the problem? According to her, she informed an aunt, someone she held in high esteem. She wanted to know what her opinion was.

Her aunt told her it was a nice idea but there would be a better time to do it. A time when the zeal no longer exists, a time when there would be other things to do. She didn't say that to kill her dreams, it was just her thought.

I inquired her, "Gold, what's your haul about what she said?"

"She's someone I honour, so trying to turn down her guidance will be tough stuff to do".

But, does she comprehend your purposes?

That's where I am going.

Gold exists in my imagination. Soon, I know I will meet her. She might be reading this now.

Many make the mistake of accepting opinions as a sign of humility, especially when it's coming from those they look up to. No matter how important that person is, you have to understand that he/she doesn't understand your goals as you do.

They love you enough to give their opinions, but they will never force you to accept them. Before you seek opinions, you should have a conclusion in mind, what's your take about it?

An opinion remains an opinion unless you accept it. Only you have a final say over whatever anyone has advised you to do.

You have to weigh whatever opinion you are given, see if it tallies with your goals. Don't just respect the source and miss the way.

Above all, you should have a starting point, that is your idea. Also, be grateful. No matter how little that opinion may be, appreciate it. That's a way to show humility.

Before you accept and dwell on that opinion, weigh it!
