Bitcoin is the type of cryptocurrency because cryptocurrency use cryptography to make Bitcoin secure. There's no physical Bitcoin. If you are thinking that you will invest money and buy Bitcoin in coins then you are totally wrong because Bitcoin is not in the coin form but it's the digital currency in which you can invest your money.

In Bitcoin mining there's no work of labour to mine Bitcoin but the variety of hardware and software are used to mine Bitcoin. Many computer chips are used in that hardware's some are called application specific integrated circuit (AISC) and more advanced programing and processing units such as graphics processing units which are called (GPU).
