No bake, home-made Pizza

0 4

In my previous article entitled "A Day in My Life: Entry #1", I mentioned that me and my mom cooked pizza for our afternoon snack. I know most of us loves pizza, right? It's delicious and appetizing! So, I decided to share the recipe here so that you can try it as well. We originally saw the dough recipe online so we just followed it. As for the sauce and toppings, we innovated our own based on our preference.

Ingredients:

Dough

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour

  • ¾  cup warm water

  • 1 tablespoon instant dry yeast (

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Sauce

  • 1 can/pouch tomato paste (90-120 mL)

  • 1 can/pouch tomato sauce (200-300 mL)

  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk

  • 6 to 8 pieces fresh, ripe tomatoes (thinly sliced)

  • 3 to 4 pieces fresh, red bell pepper (chopped)

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 2 teaspoon cooking oil

Toppings: You can choose your own pizza toppings and flavor. I will list down some toppings idea here so that you can match and pick base on your liking☺If you can't choose anything here, might as well search for additional ideas in the internet.

  • Button mushroom

  • Pineapple

  • Olives

  • Mozzarella

  • Grated cheese

  • Parmesan

  • Pepperoni

  • Bacon

  • Shrimps/prawns

  • Capsicum

  • Kale

  • Spinach

Procedure:

Preparing the dough:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt and sugar; mix with a spatula.

  2. Gradually add warm water; add olive oil.

  3. Continue stirring until dough is smooth. Note that the dough should be little tacky-not too slimy and not to dry. You can sprinkle little amount of flour or add very little amount of water to get the desired texture.

  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise.

    (While waiting for the dough to completely rise, you may now start preparing the sauce and toppings)

Cooking the sauce:

  1. Preheat pan in a low fire, add olive oil;

  2. Sauté tomato and red bell paper for 3 minutes.

  3. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce and evaporated milk; stir constantly.

  4. Add ground pepper, garlic & onion powder, salt and sugar.

  5. Simmer for another 3 minutes while gradually mixing.

  6. Remove from fire; set aside.

After this, you may now check you dough to continue preparing the crust:

  1. Use a pastry brush and add small amount of oil or melted butter in the pizza pan;

  2. Transfer the dough in the pan and sprinkle flour over it;

  3. Press the dough using your hand to flatten (following the shape of the pan), and fold over the edges for the outer crust; poke holes all over the dough.

We're now done with the crust, so let's cook the pizza!

  1. Pre-cook crust in very low fire for 4-5 minutes;

  2. Add sauce of your desired amount over the crust;

  3. Cover and cook for 20 minutes;

  4. Add your desired topping and cover for another 5 to 8 minutes;

  5. Remove from fire and slice, serve with drinks!

*sigh* Pretty tiring, right? But once you've tasted the pizza, it will all be worth it! Share your thoughts about this recipe.

Thanks for reading, bon appetit ♥

I am a pizza lover and I've tried making pizza with my friends before. It's a wonderful way of bonding with your loved ones. However, making pizza is just too tiring for me so It's better to just buy and within several minutes you'll have the pizza that you desire.
