The story begins from the interview of Joven Hernando to General Antonio Luna, the Commander of the Philippine Revolutionary Army by that time. The interview was for the periodical that Joven Hernando’s team was supposed to create. Luna said that it is easier for the Heaven and Earth to be united rather from two Filipinos what may be the topic is and this was shown the cabinet meeting where different high-ranking officials and honorable person are in like President Aguinaldo, Apolinario Mabini. During the cabinet, the people involved had some confusion if whether the Americans would an ally or would they be like the Spaniards who colonized the Philippines on addition to that freedom vs the economic wealth is also an issue. General Antonio Luna has a strong position that Americans only want conquer the Philippines and insisted to oppose the American faction, especially the ones that are already in the Intramuros, Manila. The harsh reality is that the Americans work on the back of the Filipinos and during the Treaty of Paris where no Filipino delegate/s are allowed to join the Spaniards sold the Philippines worth $20 million.

During the lifetime of General Luna, he had a numerous enemy not only from the Americans but also from his allies. One time in a battlefield where the troop of Luna needed troops from Cavite where it was handled by Captain Pedro Janolino he raged upon the Captain and this was due to the fact that he only takes orders from the President and not from Luna, who by that time was the Commander of the Philippine Revolutionary Army. Captain Janolino was humiliated Infront of his own troops, who are the same time was disarmed and their ranks where removed. This event sparked hatred and revenge on the mind of Captain Janolino and soon will have something to do with the death of the General. He even had issues with Felipe Buencamino and General Tomas Mascardo Some soldiers even calls him “Heneral Artikulo Uno” because of the way he acts, the Article 1 states that whoever disobeys the order of the Commander of the Philippine Revolutionary Army will have his rank removed and him being killed without any further due process in court and this was used by General Luna to make other officials who try to disobey him soon to follow his orders.

General Luna almost give up on our country, but when he was about to resign his request to build a camp on the North (this was his strategic plan that the Filipino troops was supposed to retreat to North while the Americans are chasing them, little did the Americans know the other Filipino troops are waiting for them and ready to ambush) was approved by the President. A letter came upon the General saying that President Aguinaldo was inviting him to go to Cabanatuan for a electing new cabinet members but the poor General was not expecting the betrayal that will soon happen to him. While entering the building he scolded some soldiers for their uniform. Inside a room, he entered, he saw sitting on the chair of the President was the person he said to be a traitor and supposed to be in jail by that time, Felipe Buencamino. They had a discussion and Luna was so confused from the letter he received. It was supposed to be a meeting but the President or any other cabinet members or candidates could not be seen. A shot was fire, Luna looks for the idiot soldier who fired the rifle, at his back was the Captain who he humiliated in front of his own troop, Captain Pedro Janolino. He was hit by a machete, couple bullets were fired on him, he was brutally punished not by the Americans but with his allies, his supposed to be allies. After Luna’s death the remaining troop of Aguinaldo executed the plan of Luna. They went North and live on the mountains and engaged guerilla tactics. In the end the death of Luna only proves that enemies are dangerous especially when they are your friends.
