*IFTAR DIGEST 2020: DAY 7*

*THE BEST FORM OF ZIKR*

Narrated by Abu Huraira (RA): I said: “O Allah’s Apostle ﷺ! Who will be the luckiest person, who will gain your intercession on the Day of Resurrection?” Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: O Abu Huraira! “I have thought that none will ask me about it before you as I know your longing for the (learning of) Hadiths. The luckiest person who will have my intercession on the Day of Resurrection will be the one who said sincerely from the bottom of his heart *'La ilaaha illa Allah'* (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). “ (Bukhari)

Whoever does plenty of Zikr of *“Lā ilāha illa Allāh”* will find sustenance in this world and the next, forgiveness of sins, and the removal of trials. All the personal, monetary, and familial trials that descend in this world are a result of sin. God, be He exalted, said, “You are not afflicted with any affliction but that it be a result of what the hands of people have acquired and He pardons much.” (Q5:15) (Q4,79)

When the human being says this statement, which is *“Lā ilāha illa Allāh”* the heavens, veils, footstool, and throne are saddened until they stand before the Lord, be He blessed and exalted and say: I will not leave this place until you find a way out for the one who is saying it. This is understood from the words of the Prophet ﷺ, *“The best of what I have said and the Prophets before me is ‘Lā ilāha illa Allāh’.*

Allāh taught the Prophet ﷺ, the knowledge of all that is initial and all that is final and gave him ample provision. Look at what He taught and bestowed him of secrets, sciences, remembrances, supplications and whatever else. With all that he was given, he said the best of it is in *Lā ilāha illa Allāh.’* Thus we know that this statement is superior to all that they recite of remembrances.

_O Allah! Open the gates of Your mercy for us. Facilitates for us the earning of lawful livelihood and raise us to a lofty station... O The Lord of the worlds. Aameen_
