THE POWER OF SIGHT

Exodus 2:2- "And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months."

Jochebed saw a fine child, the mother of Jabez saw pain, and the mother of Nabal saw a fool. They all acted based on what they saw.May we see well, so as to act well.

It's what you see that you pursue, that you follow, and that you eventually get and become.

God had to personally tell Abraham to go out and look upwards for himself, because his seed would be as uncountable as the stars he was going to gaze at.

Things may be looking bleak and hopeless, but it's up to us to choose what we want happening around us.

Yes, your world may look like it is spinning out of control and headed for the tunnel, but you must choose to see light at the end of the tunnel. Egypt saw all Israelite baby boys as doomed for slaughter; some Israelite parents also saw it that way, but a levite woman saw differently. She saw a baby with a great future.

She didn't need to see him running out of Egypt as a fugitive, nor see him stay in the wilderness of Midian for 40 years taking care of sheep. The fact remains that at the end of all those experiences, he reigned as a mighty Prince and became what his good mother saw at his birth.

How is life treating you? Bad, fair, good? Are you right now in a tight corner, and feel like screaming in desperation and anger? You don't need to; can you try laughing? Yes; smile at the storm. Have you heard this verse lately? "The joy of the Lord is your strength."

When Elijah prophesied in the time of famine that in few hours, the table would so turn that food will become very cheap and accessible, an officer mocked: "... if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this thing be?"(2Kings 7:2) That man saw it, but didn't live to enjoy it, because his sight was his limitation.

No one is bigger than their vision! "For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever." (Genesis 13:15)

May God open our eyes to begin to see the invincible and to walk in its reality. Praise the Lord!

Let us pray: Lord God almighty, take away the scales from my eyes, so I can begin to see well...
