Here are some steps you can take to counter nocturia:

  1. maintaining a healthy weight, as excess weight can put pressure on your bladder.

  2. Timing when you take diuretic medications (water pills) so that they don't impact your nightime urine production.

  3. Taking afternoon naps.

  4. Avoiding beverages containing caffeine and alcohol.
     

The herbs that may help in keeping nocturia at bay include corn silk, Indian gooseberry, basil leaves, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds.

Taking a Vitamin D supplement may also prove to be useful.
