What if all of us jumped at once🤣
Imagine!
Each and every person on earth jump at once, what would happen?
Will it cause a huge seismic event like earthquake or the effect would simply be unnoticeable?
If everyone on earth, about 7 billion peoples were constricted in a specific area and they all jump at exact same time it must cause some seismic effect. BBC has conducted this experiment with 50 thousand people the experiment was conducted by Greg Foot. He realized that a Japanese earthquake that measured 8.9cm Richter scale caused the rotation of earth to speed up by 2 meters per day.
How exactly this had happened?
Talking about earth rotation it rotates at a massive speed over 1000 mph at the equator. As in rotational motion, concentration of mass towards the center of an object can add up to its speed. So if you lay down on the ground you can add up to earth’s rotational speed although the effect would be negligible or basically zero. So the earthquake in Japan which occurred on 11th of march, 2011 caused so much destruction that its debris speed up earth’s rotation by 2 meters per day.
