A few days ago while browsing Read Cash, looking for something new to read, I saw this art challenge on @adoniis' account and found it very interesting, so I went to @kushina's account to see if there were any requirements, to encourage me to do it. So here it is.
I've always loved drawing, in fact, in school they always referred to me that way and one of my big dreams as a child was always to be a painter. When I got to high school I started to hide my talent a little, because they always wanted to exploit me and I like to do things for love, not for exploitation.
I have tried painting; drawing with pastel chalk (I love pastel chalk, it gives a good finish to everything), with pencil and with colors. Although I like drawing more with graphite pencil and painting, the latter, awakens in me a different sensation, I feel it gives me that freedom and peace that I don't feel doing anything else. Painting clears my mind.
As time went by I improved as I was practicing, but after a while I stopped due to work and college.
Now after a long time without practicing I decided to take it up again, as well as my English classes on my own. I don't speak the language, I use Deepl translator to make it look a little more organic, but don't worry! With a lot of patience and perseverance I will learn.
In 2015 I started doing a graphic design course, they taught me basic things, like, what software to use and what they are for, also the basics of Corel Draw. Although I liked Photoshop more and I stayed with it.
At the beginning I was terrible at digital art, I felt that everything I did looked very old fashioned, I didn't understand how to use the digital tools, and I considered it a torture to use the pc to design something.
I started making acknowledgment, business cards, and simple things. Then to edit images and videos, until I dared to investigate and make a vectorization.
I started making an orange, and then with a lot of practice to Rafael Vidal, a Venezuelan swimming athlete. In the process I was at the point of pulling out my hair, because my sister, who is my critical eye, didn't like the way my orange was turning out, until I succeeded.
Every day art has taken more strength, unlike years ago, where I thought it was impossible to live from it, because my godfather was a painter and did not earn much. Now it is everywhere, and it is very important in advertising. All this makes me happy, because I can make a living from what I like to do, besides writing.
What do I do best?
In pencil drawing I like to draw objects and abstract art, I'm still not very skilled with faces, people or animals, although I hope to improve. While in the digital part I love to do vectors, and soon start doing pixel art, I'm very impressed by how detailed it is.
I learned that...
Being constant and perseverant is important to improve in any aspect, as well as practice, if you don't practice you don't improve. But not only that, feeding the curiosity to learn new things will always play in your favor if you use it properly, as a professor in college said:
"I teach you the basics, but, you should not stay with it, but worry about knowing more".
It is something I always think about, and today I share it with you, be curious, practice, rest and try again.
Who else joins this interesting challenge?
