Tajmohol in Bangladesh

Taj Mahal Bangladesh owner Ahsanullah Moni, a wealthy filmmaker, announced his 'copycat version of the Taj Mahal' project in December 2008. The project has cost around 50 lakh rupees and is being built at Perab in Sonargaon, 20 miles north of the capital Dhaka. As for the reason for its construction, he said, "This Taj Mahal replica is made so that the poor people of his country, who cannot afford to go to India to see the real monuments, can fulfill their dream of visiting the Taj Mahal from their own country."
