Blockchain Weddings With NFT Vows Are The New Trend!
Digital priests are minting the NFT vows and the couples swear eternal love on the Ethereum blockchain!
A wedding needs vows and confirmation, witnesses, a priest perhaps and to be recorded on the city books, so a couple with marriage will share responsibilities and wealth sometimes with a certain agreement.
There are legal issues too but it happens, and what better way rather than recording a marriage permanently on blockchain!
Blockchain Weddings A New Crypto Niche
The last blockchain wedding was an Indian couple with the husband Anil Mohan Narasipuram and the wife Shruti Sathian Nair exchanging vows, and Ethereum NFTs that declared them husband and wife!
It has happened before when Rebecca Rose and Peter Kacherginsky exchanged NFTs instead of rings in a Jewish marriage ceremony in USA in March 2021.
Is a cute way to proceed with the marriage ceremony with your better half.
But this is something more than that. It is a simple gesture and not a valid representation of a marriage. Unless a government or courthouse decides it it.
It has no value except the gesture again, and the publicity a couple can get doing so.
It is though a public record, one everyone can verify, recorded on an immutable blockchain, Ethereum, and the keys to the exchange of NFTs are held by the couple.
A lot of questions arise from this news, as if there is any validity in a blockchain transaction while it is not recognized by a government.
A marriage has different procedures depending on each national laws and one is to record with a city hall. Maybe, if a government adopts the Ethereum blockchain for this reason it could be valid, but at what cost?
This is news I've read from this Indian website Theprint.in and it is giving us a hint of the future.
With time there will be changes in every sector and ever part of our lives and we can only take a glimpse of the future. The recent Metaverse talk is just another glimpse.
Those that will connect these dots and be ahead of the rest on the technology that is coming will be the new winners.
The Future Is Bright And Decentralized
We pay our states to provide wellfare, to manage the economy, and to control the money. Somebody had to control money until recently. With Satoshi Nakamoto, this is not a necessity any longer.
Money is now free, it is on a public and distributed ledger and has a system that motivates the private sector to be part of the creation and validation of it.
It is universal and under noones control. This is crypto.
Some crypto can be better and unique, can work or may have problems. It is not a war of speculators but a competition, people with a common goal working to solve a four thousand year problem humanity has to deal with.
We don't need someone to manage money today, this is simple on the blockchains. The new question is which blockchain will be the best one and last in this decade (20s) this one will dominate.
Choose carefuly, as what you select needs to always act as money first, as a means of exchange and not to be controllable or centralized, as the Central Bank Digital Currencies.
