Memory Lane
Whenever I speak of memory I always have this song by Maroon 5 to back it all up with the lyrics of the song making so much meaning. Bless the team for that wonderful song lyrics.
There's a time that I remember,
when I did not know no pain
When I believed in forever, and everything would stay the same
Now my heart feel like December when somebody say your name
'Cause I can't reach out to call you, but I know I will one day, yeah.
Here's to the ones that we got
Cheers to the wish you were here, but you're not
'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
Of everything we've been through
Toast to the ones here today
Toast to the ones that we lost on the way
'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
And the memories bring back, memories bring back you
The song lyrics have a lot to do with the memories and photos I will be sharing today. For the lady in the first photo, when I try remembering exactly how we started the journey of our friendship, It becomes difficult to pinpoint the date or actual day, but the year I can't forget in a rush.
She came into my life and played the role of a friend, a sister, a mother, a counselor, an adviser, a confidant, a playmate, my gist buddy, my partner in crime lol, etc.
We have been through thick and thin together for the past years we've been in this friendship. We have smiled together, laughed together, cried together, fought each other, had our misunderstanding but we still stand together.
The photo here was taken last year May 2020. After service, we decided to go to a friend's birthday celebration. The celebrant invited us so we both went together with a few of our members.
The second photo accompanies the journey we took the celebrant's place. We went in a group of seven.
You can see the six people in the photo, while I was the seventh person, the photographer , it's my thing like I just like taking pictures and saving the memories, yeah, that's me, thanks to this contest for this.
We trekked cause we had no other option. Some of us said they knew a shortcut to the celebrant's place and we had no other option than to trek since the shortcut led to a bush track which any transit cannot go through so we were left with the option of trekking. It was fun though.
You know the feeling and experience of going somewhere with friends and in groups, it's always exciting and adventurous.
Baking funny enough, not too long a friend of mine asked me why I wasn't baking again or why I wasn't using my knowledge and skill of baking to make money. I can't really remember the response I gave to her though but here is a memory of when I was still undergoing my baking training.
It was one afternoon, I and my other colleagues went to our baking center to help our teacher with her cake. She was planning to make a wedding cake. On getting them, we met other colleagues trying to make a birthday cake.
The photo below is the birthday cake they made.
We helped them out a bit in a few things they needed help with.
Do you know what? This is more like a friendship cake lol.
Why I said that is because a friend was baking the cake for her friend that had a birthday celebration the next day. You needed to see the sacrificial love she had for her friend. According to her, she didn't get a penny from her friend. She baked the cake all for free for her friend.
This is what true friendship can entail, making sacrifices for your loved ones. It was an experience I wouldn't forget as long as this photo exists, it was taken December 18, 2018.
When you see an Ambulance what comes into your mind? well, it's either hospital or death, right? Or an injured person.
February last year (2020) my church mom gave us the shock of our lives. She was extremely sick and couldn't even walk properly.
No, it wasn't Covid-19. As of then, we didn't even have the news of the pandemic. It was something else and that I can't say since it's her medical report.
She called me early one morning and told me about her health. She is a young lady. She was still in school so she asked me to come to her place and help her get to the hospital.
So many were worried about her and they kept praying for her.
We got to her place early that morning with the help of our director.
We assisted her into a tricycle and headed to the school, why school? That is because she was still in school and the school had its health care center for all students. She was taken there and on arriving, we met with the doctor, thank God she was around. She tested her and confirmed her health challenge. Administered some drugs for her which we had to go to the pharmacy to get some that the school didn't have.
And with that, the treatments, the prayers, my momma recovered quickly and was taken home.
I was scared, no we were all scared for her life when it got to a point that it was said she would be operated on. When we told our pastor, he said such won't happen, we all prayed about it and to God be the glory, she was better without being operated on and was taken home.
When was the last time you saw a rainbow? Or better still when was the last time you saw such a clear rainbow? You know what? Funny enough I never knew that this is actually how the rainbow forms or come out because each time it does come out here in my country, some parts are always hidden in the clouds but this faithful day when the rainbow came out, those parts that were always hidden were showing very well.
And you know what? Here is the part I thought was funny, I actually named this rainbow Twin Rainbow For some reason I thought the rainbow was double or something so I called it twin. Not knowing that a full rainbow is supposed to be seen like this. I only thought it was double, my bad I guess but I laugh every time I remember this experience. The photo was taken on the 19th of May, 2019
It was exactly October 19, 2019, I went to the field, it's a school actually, with a friend to make a video shoot for three speak.
We know how three speak started and the enthusiasm that came with making a three speak video then, especially for hivers. I wasn't an exemption. I did make raw videos then with my bad or poor quality phone camera. So far my face was shown or the thing I was making a video of was showing a bit for people to see, I didn't ask for much lol.
I have a thing for clouds, a beautiful sky, so when we arrived at the field, I noticed how lovely the sky was so I just couldn't help taking photos of it and trust me, the memory is still very fresh.
The last but not the least was taken on November 19, 2019. It was doing our trip to the seaport in PortHarCourt.
We had a revival program, we tag Emancipation in Portharcourt so we traveled from Akwa Ibom State to Abuloma, Portharcourt.
While on our stay there, we decided to visit the seaport they have there.
It was a wonderful moment and experience. We got to see people boarding the boat and going to wherever they wanted to go. I couldn't help but wonder how confident they were seating inside that boat and driving to the middle of the big sea, I mean I was terrified. But I saw both young and old people even a child boarding a boat and I was like wow.
I don't know how to swim so always seeing big rivers, sea, or large oceans makes me terrified.
It scares the life out of me especially if people are inside the water.
Funny enough I am not really that bad when it comes to water but my friend is much worst than me. She was so scared that I am sure she almost peed in her pants
You needed to see the distance she kept between her and the sea. She made mention of water being sweet only in the cup
We all laughed at her while some mocked her but she later overcame her fears and walked close to the water a bit.
When we were done with the view and tour, we all went back to the church and get dressed for the evening service and what really took us there. The three days program went successful and we all returned to our state and various cities.
I really must say that all the memories were worth saving and storing in my gallery and thanks to google photos save for helping me recover them and sharing this memory with you guys. Indeed it is a Memory Land and I really do hope you walked down that lane with me.
