My Motivational Plug
**Motivation** to my best understanding is a drive or force that helps one do a particular thing or accomplish a particular task. I wouldn't wanna get all professional in this article so, please pardon me if along the line I get a little too witty for your liking :) Anyway, I will try as much as I can with this to be rather a personal experience. I would love to start with instances where I was motivated to do one thing or the other. First I wanna start from my area of specialty. **I Write** and would it be weird to say I write more than I read? Yeah this is me and this is something I can't change about me and I am not even willing to change. Since It's not a bad habit I believe, I see no reason changing it. Don't get me wrong, I love consuming knowledge and ideas from other people but I rather do more of that by listening to them speak than from their written document. I am more of a listener than I am a reader. I know it is said that ***Readers are leaders*** but have we ever come across any successful leader that lacks the ***listening skill?*** Inasmuch as reading is good, having that listening skill is way better too. Less we migrate from the original topic, I wanted to make an illustration as a writer. I love writing and I tend to convey every I listen to or see into writing. Most times I even play with my imaginations and emotions. Writing is the best way to express myself and all. This is the major reason why I joined most of the paying platforms and blockchain. I mean, who wouldn't love to get paid for what they love doing? Aside from drawing which is a little stressful for me, writing takes almost nothing from me except I am not just inspired to do anything or not ready to put my thoughts together. Speaking of motivations, I am motivated each time to write, to do more when I receive positive rewards or responses for my effort or work. Trust me, I like it when I am rewarded for my efforts but it's even better to get a good and positive response for my work. It would be very sad to know that no one really cares about whatever shit you are bringing to the table because most times none of them even care to read what you are putting out there and this can make any passionate writer sad, though rewards may act as a compensation for lack of response from another content creator out there. But if I may ask, is that alone really enough? Having good rewards without any form of feedback or engagement on your work, does it really pay off well to the effort put into the work? How about if none of these two happens? I mean **No Rewards!**, **No Response!**. Now that's a huge **demotivation** don't you think? Sure it is cause I have tested and proven it. I have had my articles being jumped over or bypass many times from different blogging sites I have been sometimes without any form of rewards, let alone a response from anybody. It was like people were telling me to my face ***Hey young girl, go publish your shits somewhere else*** It continued for months and even years but do you know what motivated me after what?; **PEOPLE** It might not really be those people that overlooked my shitty articles but some other group of people who noticed I had something to offer, something unique which any other person didn't have. These people motivated me to strive harder, do better, and not look down on my efforts. I took their advice as a motivation to rise above what other people think of my work, of the efforts I put into it as well. I made writing my everyday thing. I consumed more, imagined more, and read more. I gather more information and I kept working my ass out. I engaged and interacted with a lot of other writers and gain some kind of audience for myself and though I haven't gotten to the point I desire as a writer, I am more confident now because of the little motivation I got from people. I would have also been tempted to say **WORDS** motivate me, but thinking more about this, it's the same thing. I mean **People and Words** because there are no words without people. So my greatest motivation is people. Some people may say, books motivate them, and funny enough, those books were written by people and through people. I don't think there is any form or kind of motivation in life that people are not directly or indirectly involved. And do you know what else motivates me? It is **MYSELF** Often, I don't get the motivations I need or desire from people so instead of sitting back, folding my hands, and being lazy about a particular thing, and looking pitiful, I try as much as I can to be the motivation I need. I find everything worth appreciating and complimenting myself for and do the needful. I congratulate myself on my little achievements. I console myself for the few losses and move on, and then I motivate myself to rise and do better. I strive each day to be better than my older self. Not entirely a new version but a rebranded version of myself. And this can only happen if you motivate yourself and rise to the challenge. No one would do this one for you, all you need is yourself to get to wherever you want to be, and getting to that place all start from **self-motivation** I hope I have been able to either satisfy or please someone with this week's prompt word **MOTIVATION** and even if I haven't, I still hope that you will be motivated to take this prompt challenge and you never know who you might motivate. I love how you relate words to people. "There wouldn't be any words without people." I agree, listening is one of the most important skills. For me, when I read, I actually hear the words in my head. So, at least in my case, reading IS listening. I'm pretty much an introvert and being around people or even on the telephone completely wears me out. It is so exhausting and a huge energy suck. I love reading people's thoughts, though. It is like I'm listening to them from inside their brains. I don't even know if that makes sense! Anyway, thank you so much for participating!
Lol, I can attest to that fact. It drains me though when people are a little bit talkative, that isn't really the kind of talk I would like to listen to for a long time. I know how drained I feel when people just wouldn't stop talking especially on the telephone lol. I always find a way to hang up on them but in a polite way hehehehhe. I am an introvert too but I guess I am a little extroverted depending on the environment and my relationship with any association I find myself in. I am so glad I took part in this challenge.
P.S. Where's your sponsor bar? I would like to sponsor you.
Oh wow Really? Thank you so much. Now I am busy looking for my sponsor bar 🥺 where do I find that? I usually see it on other people's profiles. Why can't I find mine? Would you know why?
This will tell you how to make the sponsorship bar show up. https://read.cash/@JonicaBradley/how-i-got-sponsorships-and-how-you-can-too-0373c70a
I just finished reading your article and I applied what I read there. It worked. Now you can see the sponsor bar right?
Yes I can. I'm away from my laptop at the moment, but will get on it later this evening. Look for the sponsorship notification and be sure to approve it
Yes, I approved it. But is it supposed to remain there even after the approval?
Wow! I like the part where you say WORDS motivate you but then those were by people and that there wouldn't be any words without people. Indeed you are right. I share almost all of your sentiments here. I have also been blogging and feeling like no ones reading my work but I get random messages from people saying I did well. Which makes me more motivated to write. You are definitely an amazing writer!
I am really so pleased that you like something about my article, it means a lot to me. And you are an amazing writer too. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
