As you have just heard, as if it were a spy movie, recently a news item was released that a cybersecurity attack on the car manufacturer Tesla was prevented thanks to one of its employees reporting it to Tesla executives and the authorities.

It turns out that a Russian citizen, clearly running a well-organized, well-capitalized scheme, tried to bribe a Tesla employee into allowing an attack on the company's cybersecurity.

Rather than succumbing to the temptation to earn a million dollars easily, the employee reported the situation to Tesla, who reported it to the FBI. Between all and with the active participation of the employee they managed to discover the whole plan and arrest the culprit.

As in a Hollywood movie, the employee carrying communications devices, elicited information from the culprit, pretending to accept the plan to give the FBI all the information necessary for the arrest.

Fortunately for Tesla, the company was able to get away from what could have been a serious cybersecurity attack, and it has one employee to thank for it. It takes a lot, after all, to say no to a $1 million reward, as others have compromised more far more for far less.

I sincerely hope that the employee will be generously rewarded for this act of dedication and loyalty to his company. He clearly thought that the security of a company fighting for humanity's sustainable future is worth much more than a million dollars in his own pockets.
