Washing your hands and wearing mask is not enough. When staying at home during these lock-downs, it is very important to to keep your body healthy and active. That of course includes your family, as well.
During this pandemic it is vital to keep a healthy lifestyle. Do not stress yourself too much from physical activities in your home.
Monitor your sugar and salt intake
Canned goods are full of sodium and saturated fats. These are the causes of obesity, high cholesterol, and kidney stones.
Keep in mid that the minimum Fat intake is about 44 grams to 77 grams of fat per day for every 2,000 calorie diet per day.
Sodium intake should be less than 2,300 mg per day or equivalent to about 1 teaspoon of salt.
Eat green leafy vegetables, and fruits
Green leafy veges have little carbohydrates, sodium and cholesterol. In other words, it is good for your health because they contain high levels of calcium, fiber, iron, magnesium, and potassium. Most popular vegetables I can recommend are spinach, cabbage, cucumber, and lettuce. You must have fruits in your daily diet. For Vitamin C enrichment, the following are the best -oranges, papaya, pineapple, watermelon, and strawberries. For Vitamin E, you should have avocados, mangoes, and nuts. In a typical meal, at least 2/3 of your plate should be filled with whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.
Keep your body re-hydrated
Science says our body is 75% water, that is why water is an essential part of our lives. 8 to 10 glasses or at least 2 liters of water can really help maintain healthy kidneys, and superb organs. Water also helps washing out those calories which can cause unwanted weight gains. Adequate water in your body helps prevent headaches, especially on hot seasons. Remember, drinking alcohol should be disciplined and not be abused at home.
Get good night sleeps
There is only one best healing process for the body and that is good sleeping. Sleeping can boost your immune system. It can improve your attention and concentration, and keep your heart healthy. 8 hours of good sleep is perfect. Moreover, when your are doing too much work on household chores or in the basement or elsewhere in your house, it is advisable to take breaks to avoid fatigue.
Physical exercise
Since we are on lock-downs it is highly unlikely when go to our favorite gym nowadays. You can still improvised while your in your home. Exercising benefits your body thru proper blood circulation, and helps mental functions too. Two hours of exercise each week is quite enough already. Exercising is beneficial because it protects us from gaining too much weight, it lower blood pressure, improves joint stiffness, and keeps us away from chronic diseases such as: arthritis, asthma, and cancer.
Prayer and Meditation
Last but not the least, prayer and meditation is very vital to our spiritual self because if spiritually your are healthy, that means your physical well-being is in tip-top shape as well.
Meditation maintains positive attitude because you possess peace of mind. In prayers you gain strength during these troubling times. It is super psychological so it affects your whole well-being. Once a man was asked, “What did you gain by regularly praying to God?” The man replied, “Nothing…but let me tell you what I lost: Anger, ego, greed, depression, insecurity, and fear of death.” source
Keep safe always during these lock-downs!
