Before knowing the history of sundial first we try to know, what is a sundial?
Sundial is an oldest instrument for telling time. It gives the track or position of the sun more accurately. In the earliest of 19th century sundials were considered the most important which people used to tell the time.
With the invention of Sundial the measurement of time began. Now the question arises when did the Sundial came into being. Around 5500 years ago the first Sundial was created.
Some Sundials are found in ancient Egyptian ruins. So it is obvious that Egyptians, Greeks and Romans used Sundials.
The most interesting thing is that the Romans were the first who divided the day into 12 hours.
Another interesting feature of the Sundial was that it only told the time in only Day.
