The Bangabandhu Bridge is also called Jamuna Bridge because of the built on the Jamuna river. This is the 11th and the sixth longest bridge in South Asia in the world. In 1998 its construction work ended. Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani first took the initiative to build it. But it was not possible to implement it.
