A demand which can only be obtained at other person expense need proper clarification, preparation before tendering such request, as such to avoid refusal to any kind of request, any requests should be tendered in a well tailored or appropriate mannerism.
Clarity before consultation to me may mean a way or techniques which are required before a request could be tenderable ones , they must coherent, comprehensive and tenderable. If a request is made horribly, it reduces the value or respect of whom that make such request.
A good way to incorporate more human tone to your request message is to think about explaining it out loud to someone. How does it sound when it is present to anyone in making a request. A well psychologically oriented person will contemplates over making any request even it the demand is meager compare to the wealth of whom is to provide.
I witnessed a sinerio in our compound today, it sound horrible to me upon hearing all that happens, actually there was serious fight between a couple in my neighborhood, what really happened? the fight was because the husband came with friends home and ordered his wife to cook for his ten friends without prior knowledge of the wife of their coming, the wife insist that husband should take his friends to eatery because she was tired but instead husband demands her to cook and the wife refused that she can't. Me trying to settle the fight think it was different issue, not knowing that it is fight of egos. lol. but as soon i was informed about what happened, Fortunately enough, I was able to settled the matter with ease since I know the driving force behind the fight.
in essence, many people think they have right over everything, they misinterprete Previlege and Right, being the head of the family doesn't mean you boss over everything at all time, approaches matter all the time for our actions not be regretted afterwards.
