Aelie's 8th Birthday
Hello, read.cash friends, I slacked in writing for two good days, oh my, What a waste I did.
Yesterday was my daughter's birthday and I did some preparations for the celebration. As I have mentioned before, all I wanted was to give the birthday girl her ultimate happiness; and since a kid's happiness is shallow, I was able to provide them for her.
Days before her birthday, I asked her what will make her birthday happy and she said she wants a cake, balloons, and ice cream; with the help of my mother and sister, it was all provided. The food? well, it was something we never thought about since Ii and my husband's focus was her.
Here is how the day happened.
My husband woke up very early because he planned to go to the farm my mother had lent us, the weeds that grew along with the cassava plants were plenty and he needs to weed them off so the crops will have a space to grow. Last month, a few weeks after planting, my husband said that he will be spraying herbicides on the crops but he was discouraged because the crops had already grown and they will possibly die so he stopped doing it. (we decided to help plant on my mother's farm first so we could make use of the seasonal rains) It had also rained for many days causing the crops and the weeds to grow fast.
While my husband was away, I did the laundry and made breakfast for the kids. A little later Aelie went home( she sleeps beside my mother) and I gave her my marshmallow surprise! Boy, she was happy and I did not have to tell her to share it with her siblings. She had her breakfast and of she went to church with my mother.
I was left alone with Laling and Czak at home while trying to bake Aelie's cake. I prepared the batter but I realized I did not have wax paper so I went off to the store and bought some. I also bought tomato sauce and cheese so I could try to make pizza; I was craving it for a long time already! I'm just so glad that my sister let me borrow her convection oven.
Only while sifting the flour is when I able to get a picture, the rest o the time, my kids were borrowing my phone and I used my husband's phone to take pictures instead and I failed to send them on my phone last night.
While waiting for the first batch of cake to cook inside the oven, I prepared the pizza dough and let it rise, Since I did not have a dough roller, I put the dough in between two sheets of wax paper and punched them haha yep, I punched the to flatten thus the irregular shape of the doughs are done. I only used hotdogs as toppings but I added tomato sauce and cheese before that.
It was a success, just in time my husband came home from the farm, and he ate them as lunch. He said it was delicious but I guess he was just hungry but the truth is that it was just "pizza na lasang pwede na" I was happy to have made a pizza, in fact, it was my dream of making one. Czak was very excited to eat even, good thing the pizza were easy to cook.
I made the icing too, I caramelized sugar and added it to the beaten egg whites but I failed. It was not stiff and so it looks like porridge when put into the cake. I am not happy with my work but it's too late to make another one and I have already ran out of sugar. To make the cake look better, I added sprinkles on top and bought a number candle in number 8, it's just worth 15 pesos. Czak wanted to look at the cake thus the picture.
Ooh, I bought balloons too and borrowed a balloon inflater from my mother. The lamp light added beauty to the balloons and it looks so cool.
It was raining already at that time so I asked my husband to cook faster. So we all went to my mother's house, asked her to bless the celebrant, and ate. We were all hungry already! But my mother complained because the chicken adobo is not tender enough to eat. Byt the way, my mother donated two of her chickens for dinner viand.
After dinner, desserts and drinks followed. I bought Royal and Pepsi from 7eleven, they were both two liters so everyone will have enough. My sister bought a tub of ice cream too which the kids enjoyed so much. My nephew even bought ice cream cones so that they will feel the vibe, Lols
Above are the random shots that I took during the celebration. After the little feast that we had, I asked my daughter, "Ling, are you happy?" she then answered that she was and I am happy too. But oh, I forgot about the gummy worms that I should give her that night, I might as well give it to her tonight as her birthday is extended, haha.
So that folks is how we celebrated my daughter's 8th birthday. It was very simple but we all made my daughter happy on her special day. May God give her joy and never-ending love throughout her life.
