First, it’s an amazingly detailed and well-preserved picture of an ancient culture.
⚫The Bible can help us understand who we are based on the descriptions and stories of people who lived two to four millennia ago. It shows the development of Hebrew culture over a long period of time, helping us to understand how cultures rise and fall.
⚫The Bible has also motivated scholars and archaeologists to search diligently for locations and people groups. It has provided a structure to fit seemingly random archaeological finds into a context.
One of the most important things about the Bible is that it tells the story of the Creator and his creation.
WHY IS THE BIBLE IMPORTANT?
➡️It shares how humans are capable of great things, but also terrible things.
➡️It shows us how much the Creator cares for his wayward creation and what he has done to rescue it.
➡️It shares how Jesus, Israel’s long-awaited King, was born humbly, how he loved and served the misfits and outcasts of the world.
➡️It tells us how he confronted the powerful and called all people to repent-to turn away from sin (our disobedience and our self-reliant attempts to control and manipulate in order to hang on to power.
The Bible tells the story of Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, and ascension, how He came to save To mankind from our sin to eternity apart from God. In the Bible, we learn that Jesus promised: all who turn from their evil and selfish ways and agree that he is Lord and Savior will have eternal life.
WHY IS THE BIBLE IMPORTANT TO CHRISTIANITY?
THE BIBLE is very important to Christians because they believe that it helps to transmits God's ideas to human beings. Christians believes that, after our death, God judges all people who ever lived and assigns them to different sorts of afterlives based on what they did while human. Since one's entire afterlife (all of eternity) depends on properly understanding what God wants, so that BIBLE is very important to us..
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF READING THE BIBLE?
YOU BECOME A WARRIOR
Reading the Bible everyday, makes us a warrior for ourself, our marriage, and our family. As a mom, We set the tone for our family and We have a very powerful role of influence. When we realize this, the importance of reading the bible intensifies.
By reading scripture everyday—we are taking a stand to turn our heart to God and His plans for us and to our family. You’re letting Him renew our mind, guide us and direct our path and that directly impacts everything to us to do in our life.
Life isn’t just about what you do though—it’s a battle for everyones hearts and minds for our family. The benefits to reading the Bible is that God’s plans and purposes are written in our heart.
YOU RECEIVE PEACE
Spending time in God’s Word does something pretty amazing—We start to feel peace rule in your heart. This is really noticeable because our life is so fast paced. It’s a great reason to read the Bible in the morning especially because it sets the tone for our day.
YOU GET WISER
Not only we get wiser about life—we find purpose—what you should be doing in life. There are in the Psalms and Proverbs alone some very wise instruction for living. It helps me to guide our daily life
I feel more confident to make decisions or act in certain ways because of how the Bible has described similar situations.
You don’t just wake up one day knowing these things—you grow in it. Even Jesus had to learn obedience.
YOU MODEL SOMETHING FOR YOUR KIDS
When my son wakes up in the morning because until now my son was breastfeeding and finds me reading the bible. When the kid see me As a models something for him. And he finds me like this every day, okay, not every day. Because let’s be honest, some days he finds me in bed because he’s woke up way too early!
Before doing my chores, I read the bible first and pray. It helping to me to see How to starting my day this way is important and it helps him to create that habit too.
The other one of the benefits to reading the Bible every day is like I said before, that is what magnifies the importance of reading the Bible in relation to my role as a mom.It trains my son for how to start reading the bible for himself.
He’s definitely not there yet, by himself. But still. It motivates me more, because I know that by doing this, my son will struggle with it less than I did in the past.
All of these are benefits to reading the bible simply because he has seen me modeling daily reading of the bible for and with him.
It signals a habit to wake up early.
Letting my son see me read shows him it’s important.
Reading in my Bible tells him he’s important to me.
And, when I read with him, I’ve helped him feel included. Sometimes when someone is just learning how to start reading the bible, it can make them feel isolated.
But this approach, modeling bible reading to your kids is invitational.
YOU BECOME SOFT AND STRONG AS A WOMAN
There are a more of studies in the books that helped to reinforce this for me as I began to read more about my role as a woman, wife, and mom. But, the most important influence has been the Bible. As I read more about who God created me to be, it helped me also to understand how to love others better too.
YOU BECOME A CONFIDANTE OF GOD
A confidante/confident being with—is a trusted friend of God. As you read God’s Word, He speaks to your heart.
Other times I’ve sat down to pray about a specific situation that I’m facing, I’ll read scripture and literally the words will feel like they’re jumping off the page at me—giving me the exact answer to how I prayed.
God loves to speak to us—especially through His Word.
Psalm 25:14,
“The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.”
Do you tell secrets to just anyone? Me neither. But God has chosen to reveal things to you.
YOU BECOME A BETTER LISTENER
I remember when I first started really digging more into scripture when I was in a bible study with about 7 other woman. Because I had been reading more of God’s Word daily, I started listening more intently to what other people were saying about different passages in scripture.
My new interest in listening resulted in me experiencing another one of the benefits to reading the Bible for myself. I knew what was true. And it became very clear that some people who I thought were strong in their faith—didn’t really know the Bible at all.
LISTENING TO GOD AND LOVING OTHERS WELL
The revelation about those who I thought knew the bible, was shocking to me. To make things more challenging, the one who clearly didn’t know what they were talking about, was actually the one in charge of the study.
I didn’t even know what to say.
What the leader was saying wasn’t in line with what I was reading or studying. But I didn’t feel confident enough to question what they were saying.
GOD BECOMES REAL
One of the most surprising benefits to reading the bible is that suddenly it’s almost like God really becomes real—to you specifically.
He’s not just there…He is tangibly showing up in your life.
What I mean?We start to see how He’s working specifically in your life—and in others’ lives. He shows up through our circumstances, our relationships, and in other ways we don’t expect.
Like when we’re a mess in the grocery store and one of our friends shows up just at the right time to encourage us.It's not a coincidence, God wants us to know, He sees us and cares for us.
YOU START TO KNOW YOUR FAITH AND LIVE IT OUT
We start to know our faith and live our faith. Instead of just remembering bible stories or things that others have said, the Word really starts to come alive for us. It starts to transform our thoughts and guide our steps for everyday living.
Secondly, our faith is something that we know and live.we know the truth because it’s guided by God’s Word. God’s Word is living and active, sharper than a double edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). This also emphasizes the importance of reading the Bible—so that you really know Truth.
THE BIBLE BECOMES SOMETHING YOU CRAVE
The more you read God’s Word, the more you truly recognize you need to read it. It’s not just a good book to read—but you really crave it—and you really miss it when you don’t read.
For me, I have less patience, or attentiveness towards those I love—all because I miss time in God’s Word. The craving, the peace, and the patience are all benefits to reading the bible.
