First case of monkeypox in the Philippines!
It shocked me when I knew that our country already have a case of monkeypox. We are not still Covid-19 free but here is the another infectious disease that will makes our life even more difficult. According to the news, the first case is now undergoing to strict isolation with the 10 person who had been a close contact to her. However, they will be observed during the duration of their 14 to 21 quarantine.
| "It doesn't affect the entire population. It is not like Covid that can possibly fatal..."|
This statement that came from a higher position in the government made me angry. They seems to wait until everyone got infected or die before they do anything. It is like they didn't learned their lessons when we had the first case of Covid-19.
The worst thing is that we still don't have a DOH secretary who will lead this new public health advisory. This is very alarming, because the government seems no concern, no sense of urgency, and concrete plan about this. I am frustrated and scared about the happenings in our country.
In regards, here's the public advisory of the DOH about the monkeypox and how it can be transmitted to human.
Monkeypox virus is transmitted to humans through:
Close contact
Wounds
Body fluids
Respiratory droplets with an infected person or animal, or contaminated materials
Symptoms include:
Swollen lymph nodes
Fever
Rash
How it is different from chicken fox, and measles?

Stay safe and take care of yourself everyone!
Let me know your thoughts about this contagious disease?
I know how difficult it is to have chickenpox because I was around 20's when I got it! But monkeypox is being transferred over sexual interaction, close contact or fluids so better for us to stay clean-body and environment.
Stay away from animals too that show the symptoms, above all, be well and eat watery veggies and fruits.
Stop sex with same genders. This "virus" is very picky.
