Adulting 101: Getting a Valid ID

0 16

Getting a valid ID for me is one sign that you are nearly in adulting stage haha. I've been always asked to show some of my valid identification wherever I go. But, the only thing I can show is my school ID haha. In the Philippines, it is hard to get a valid ID's because when you apply to get it, they will ask you for another ID haha. But postal ID is the easiest to obtain. The primary use of it is to verify a person’s identity and address, but it can also be used as a valid ID for any transactions concerning government agencies and banks.

Anyways, this morning my sister and I went to the postal office to apply for a postal ID, but it turned out that their system was broken and they didn't know when it will be fixed. So, we wasted our time going there, but it also our fault that we didn't check their facebook page first.

We decided to get a valid ID because we haven't gotten our national ID yet and we need it for our incoming on-the-job training.

If you're thinking about of getting a postal ID here are the documents that you needed to prepare:

  • Two (2) copies of duly-accomplished PID application form

-My sister said that you can fill up the form in the PhilPost Office

  • Proof of identity like NSO-issued birth certificate, SSS UMID card, Passport, or Barangay Certificate

-You can get this in your barangay, just tell them your purpose why are you getting this.

  • Barangay Clearance

-It's the same barangay cert, it costs 20 pesos or depends in your local area.

  • Marriage Certificate (For marriage person)

Valid IDs are documents that can prove your identity. Therefore, having a valid ID are important because your identity will be easily known if you encounter unexpected accident or event. But, others mainly use this for their job application or verification of accounts.
