Team Senegal beat Burkina Faso 3-1 in the semifinal with Lions of Teranga making the AFCON final for 2nd time in a row

Senegal created it into the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final with a 3-1 win against Burkina Faso late Wednesday.

Abdou Diallo scored from shut vary for the African nation, breaking the impasse within the seventieth minute of the semi at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Cameroon’s capital Yaounde.

Six minutes later, Senegal's midfielder Idrissa Gueye doubled the lead for his team, finishing in the box when Sadio Mane had passed from the byline.

Burkina Faso narrowed the gap to 1 when Blati Toure scored together with his knee after a cross from the right within the 82nd minute.

African nations star Mane broke the shock of Burkina Faso goalkeeper Farid Ouedraogo to double the gap on a fast counterattack in the 87th minute, creating it 3-1.

Senegal secured the win to order their place in the 2021 final.

The Lions of Teranga qualified for the AFCON final for the second time during a row as Senegal was the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations runners-up.

In Sunday's final, Senegal can face host nation Cameroon or record AFCON winners Egypt.

On Thursday, Cameroon can play against Egypt at Yaounde's Stade d'Olembe.

Meanwhile, Burkina Faso are set for the third-place contest on Sunday.
