Facebook has been down for 6 hours along with Instagram, WhatsApp, and many of its products. Facebook grew up so big to become a single point of failure in social media that people just realize how impactful they are. Interestingly, the Facebook outage happened after a whistleblower told the audience that Facebook favors elitism, sells data to drug cartels and Instagram makes teenagers mentally stressed and much more.

Facebook is a shady business

Facebook starts to lure people to input their privacy and connect with their long time lost friends. Then they use data against you.

All Facebook features are traps

Whether you like and thumb up or tag people, you help them to sort data for them against yourself and your friends.

Facebook foster conspiracy theories

It is easy to build and lead groups of people who believe in anything. Their platform is the best place to build your own cult.

Facebook forced outage (maybe)

It shut itself down to delete sensitive data before the Congress hearing against their business. How coincidental that they were down when the whistleblower was against them.

Facebook was hiding something more than you imagined

We had no way to access their information but there were more and more people who stood up against them.

Tech companies were running just as Facebook did

There are no privacy standards for big technology companies. They offer you free products to exchange your invaluable data for their profits.

Facebook made the world the worst place to live

Social media works against each other. They did not show the best of humanity but the worst. They did not influence your decision but forced you into certain behaviors that are popular on the platform.

We need decentralized social media

Social media need not be centralized. The platform should be decentralized and transparent of rules everyone anticipates and follows.

In conclusion

Facebook marks the beginning of social media and the end of social media. We inevitably need a decentralized system to heal our wounds.
