Reminding everyone to always unplug unused appliance at home or in the office. Earlier here in office, we encountered a burnt extension cord where the amplifier is plugged. The amplifier was plugged in the extension cord eversince I was hired last March. Though the amplifier is switched off and considering the extension has been plugged like forever, it consumes electricity and the electronic parts of the cord have tendency to worn-out at some point. Also, extension cords should not be used as permanent source of power. If you are using these, regularly unplug them from the main outlet and inspect the unit itself for damages to avoid such incidents.
