Imagine a map of Argentina. Its vast expanses cross several latitudes. Not surprisingly, along with the beach resorts, you can go skiing here, and in addition to tropical animals, you can also admire the penguins. Yes, it is these cute and funny birds that the Punta Tombo Nature Reserve sheltered in its open spaces.

Punta Tombo is home to more than 650,000 penguins every year. Every autumn they migrate to the peninsula where the reserve is located in order to acquire and raise offspring. Almost under every more or less decent bush, small burrows are dug here, in which the female incubates eggs. However, the peculiarity of penguins is such that not all individuals realize their reproductive instinct - there are those who simply splash in the water, catch crustaceans and molluscs, and enjoy their rest in safety.

In Argentina, Punta Tombo is the most visited nature reserve. These lands are part of the coastline that is covered with clay, sand and gravel. In general, Punta Tombo is not huge in size. Its width is only 600 m, and it stretches for 3 km in length. More than 65 thousand tourists annually admire the marriage ceremonies and the process of raising little penguins. In addition, seagulls, cormorants, rhea and guanacos live in the reserve.

If you are going for a walk in Punta Tombo and are determined to get to know Magellanic penguins better, violating the administration's instructions, then remember that the main thing is not to get in the way of these birds. They can only walk in a straight line, and they simply cannot get around you.
