In Argentina, tourism has been developing very rapidly over the past twenty years. This is especially true for such areas as eco-tourism. The variety of climatic zones and the proximity to the great Andes have provided Argentina with many natural beauties and attractions. These are mountains, glaciers, passes, forests and water bodies, for example, Lake Lakar.
Lakar is a reservoir of glacial origin. Geographically, it is located in the Patagonian Andes, in the Argentine province of Neuquen. On the northwest side of Lacar is the town of San MartÃn de Los Andes, the most touristic place in the area.
The lake itself is relatively small, only 55 sq. km, it is located at an elevation of 650 m above sea level. Studies have shown that its maximum depth is 277 m, and the average is 167 m. The Waum River flowing out of the lake further flows into Lake Piriueiko.
Tourists come here all year round, mainly for fishing, which is just great here. In addition, you will be offered hiking along the coast, cycling, active sports on the lakeside. Do not forget about boating, scooter, canoeing, etc. San Martin de Los Andes and some other places on the coast have recreation centers where you can have a great rest from civilization and enjoy nature.
