The following robot workers could be anyone's tireless servants. Which do you think among them is the most ideal in rendering any form of service?
Robonaut
As the name suggests, the idea behind the Robonaut is to have humanoid machines work alongside astronauts – ones that could provide other sets of hands to perform those jobs that are either too dangerous for crew members or too mundane for them to spend time on.
NASA declares Robonauts are essential to the future of Earth orbit studies and to that of space exploration in general. In our dream to one day build and reside on human habitats on other planets, they could be our first loyal servants and companions that are vital to our survival.
Looj
If you place your ladder at a corner of the house, and if your gutters are wide enough you can easily clean out two sides of a house in a few minutes – That’s what critics say about this tiny robot. It is remote-controlled and is designed to resemble a toy tank with a power drill mounted on the front.
It is only 2.25 inches tall and 3.25 inches wide, just as small as a cellphone. Of course, robots of similar caliber are also used in warfare and espionage where they are agents for destruction. But to us, they can be the handiest semi-intelligent tools that can make our homes better.
Paro
Most robots are built for utility purposes, but this one is different – it is designed for therapy. Paro can help relieve depression and anxiety. It has been used primarily in care facilities, especially for dementia patients. It is programmed to respond to sounds and can learn names, including its own.
Furthermore, it can seek out eye contact, respond to touch, remember faces, and learn actions that generate a favorable reaction. It is active during the day and sleep at night. It can indeed be anyone’s pet and companion. But unlike most pets, it never needs to be fed and it doesn’t die.
Vgo
In this day and age, everyone wants to be anywhere instantly. This is impossible, until Vgo came along. Harnessing the power of telepresence to the fullest, it allows you to broadcast yourself into a faraway place where you can have the freedom to move around as if you were physically there.
Equipped with a screen that can project your face, and with wheels that allows mobility, you can see, hear, talk, and interact with the ones you want to connect to. Thus the Vgo can be your digital but physical representation in a place that’s impossible to be at on short notice.
Gita Bot
Picture this, you are in a grocery store or in a shopping mall, and you have a tonload of goodies that you bought with you. But your kids are too lazy to carry it with you. Now, if carrying your own bags is such a painstaking chore, then this Bot especially designed for that will ease out your worries.
This compact, well-designed robot is designed to follow you around wherever your indulgences may carry you: while you're out of town, on the way to the office, or just about anywhere. Gita is very capable of carrying the weight equivalent of a wine case, or the combined weight of two shopping bags. That goes to show that it’s an ideal errand or companion for any trip to the shops.
Packbot
This robot can traverse mud, rocks, stairs, and other surfaces using its caterpillar track. Why it is designed for such a variety of roadways is because it is meant for detecting and diffusing improvised explosive devices.
Thus, they keep soldiers safer in combat. Robots of this kind were also used on several reconnaissance missions at some power plants to remove debris and measure radiation readings. Domestically, they may not be too useful, but in life-threatening scenarios, they can be the ultimate stealthy saviors.
Schaft
It is a humanoid robot, with the strength of roughly ten men. It could perform several autonomous tasks, primarily for navigating disaster areas and for working with any tools and materials at hand. It is able to lift and clear heavy debris during rescue operations and has an extra level of articulation presented by the innovative motors used to power and perform its movements.
With its long arms and squat torso, Schaft is capable of moving at a speed of 2 kilometers per hour. It was Google’s entry to the 2013 DARPA Robotics challenge, where it was awarded prestigiously, beating other brilliantly crafted robots from all over the world.
EcoBot
It actually means Ecological Robot and it refers to a class of robots that can sustain itself by collecting energy from nearby materials, mostly waste matter, from the environment. A robot within this classification has the ability to compute and execute tasks by following a set of rules given in an algorithm, with minimum human intervention.
Such tasks could range from common household chores to heavy intricate industry processes. They are the perfect mechanical servants, which could very well put an end to human error problems in production establishments. With robots like these sprouting here and there, it is very possible that strong diligent human workers could be replaced no matter how hardworking they are.
Pepper
It wasn’t clear if Tony Stark’s girlfriend was named after this, or if it was the other way around but this one was designed to be a friendly emotions-reading helper. Such was the intent of this automaton so it can work effectively as a receptionist, as a salesperson, and, even as a nanny.
In its upgrades, Pepper got packaged with an educational integrated development environment (IDE), called Tethys, with the objective of teaching students how to write computer code. With such a software tool, students can program the humanoid to move, talk, make gestures, and show different messages on its screen, Softbank Robotics, the company behind it hopes this breakthrough will inspire a new generation of robot creators.
Kime
This humanoid digital worker is featured with up to 14 to 20 degrees of movement freedom. It has also smart sensors installed outwards with advanced programming in machine learning so it can improve its skills on its own. The purpose of its creation is for serving food and beverage. It is developed by Macco Robotics – a world-class AI facility in Spain.
Its human-like upper body with its two arms is housed inside a kiosk that bar customers can approach. During its beta-tests, the robot has been recorded to be quite good at pouring beer because it can serve up to 300 glasses per hour.
Which among these robots would you like to have in your house?
I saw on TV a robot for covid19 patient its a nurse, I don't know the name, somewhere Luzon. But its good to notice all this. Thank you.
