Do you know what Yoga means? I started it last year. When, I watched the teachings in Hinduism. It really helped me to connect my inner self and have peace in my mind and serve to many people.

Yoga is not just an exercise. It is also a meditation. When I heared the word "YOGA" before. I thought it is an exercise of the Hindus, Jainist and Buddhist people. But, when, I read and explore about it. I just love to try it. We need to do this exercise to relax our self and refresh our minds because, YOGA are aimed toward enlightenment.

What does it really means when we say YOGA??

Yoga is not a religion in itself, it is connected to religion."Yoga is a Hindu spiritual exercise," and it is one way of meditation that is open for all. Yoga is one of the six major houses that was thought in Hinduism, that was derived from the Sanskrit word yug, which means to unite. Both Buddhists and Hindus chant the sacred mantra 'Om' , as we can hear during their meditation.

Yoga is a system of practice dealing with physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being which has evolved over thousand of years .

There are different forms of yoga and some of which are more overtly religious than others and it was stems to the historical from Hinduism, but also to Jainism and Buddhism.

Yoga manifests itself as four major paths of Hinduism namely:

Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Rāja Yoga and Jñāna Yoga. Let's discuss it one by one.

  1. Karma Yoga: Path of Action

--The word “Karma” means action. It is the Yoga of Action or duty. Karma Yoga can be best defined as “Doing your duty at your best without any involvement of ego or attachment”. Karma Yoga is the yoga of action done without being attached to the outcome.

There are 4 essential words in the definition of Karma Yoga: the duty, ego, attachment, and expectation of reward.

If we, perform this KARMA yoga. It helps us to starve our EGO to reach our ATMAN. I know you encountered this one in your WRBS subject when you are in SHS before or maybe in college. I think?.. Anyway, this is a Path to liberation, or moksha, through WORK or our ACTIONS. Like shrinking and starving the EGO by seeking to serve or help other people. It is a selfless service unsheathes our 'diamond beings' and our Eternal Truth Shines through.

Btw, this is the Yoga that I do perform last year. This is my picture in performing this one.

Payatot days. hehe. Please excuse my face ^ ^

Attaining Karma Yoga is by our good deeds and actions. I do find a place in performing this one. Where I can concentrate and relax. The best place to perform meditation is in the nature or in the mountains. And I forgot to bring my carpet that time. hehehe. I wear stretchable attire so that I will be comfortable in performing yoga. Through mindful movement and breath awareness, my kind of yoga connects mind , body and spirit. I just start reflecting myself and think all my past or current problems in life and reflect it with the relaxation sound. Just go with the flow of the yoga. And Surely, your body will be floating in peace.

  1. Jñāna Yoga: Path of Knowledge

--Jnana is Sanskrit for “knowledge or wisdom” and Jnana Yoga is the path of attaining knowledge of the true nature of reality through the practice of meditation, self-inquiry, and contemplation. So, if you need to attain the path of knowledge, then you must try this one.

  1. Bhakti Yoga: Path of Devotion

--Bhakti yoga, also called Bhakti marga (literally the path of Bhakti), is a spiritual path or spiritual practice within Hinduism focused on loving devotion towards any personal deity. Bhakti is mentioned in the Shvetashvatara Upanishad where it simply means participation, devotion and love for any endeavor. (source:google)

  1. Rāja Yoga:Path of Discipline

--It is a yoga to energize the body and mind.--

When we perform any type of YOGA. We should be:

Serving to the self is the beginning step to start the journey of any type of yoga. Find a place where you can feel the peace of mind. But, the perfect place to perform yoga is within the mountains. In which we can focus in reflecting to our inner selves. The nature experience is simply taking the practice outdoors.

Prepare yourself and make sure that your attire is comfortable to you. Because, meditation is a yogic practice used by Buddhists and yogis alike to go beyond the fluctuations of the mind to realize the Oneness of Being.

Practicing yoga connects us deeply with the elements and energy of the universe.

It Access health and happiness with acient yoga practices from around the world that tap into the healing power of nature.

So, what are you waiting for. You must give yourself to relax, meditate and reflect. I know this yoga will surely help you to attain enlightenment. :)
