What would you do if you realised you had on your hard drive £330,000,000 of bitcoin, but that hard drive was thrown in the bin 7yrs ago??
Every day must be a gut wrenching experience for James Howells, of Newport; Wales. This is the Welshman that should he ever manage to find his hard drive, he would be as rich as the Queen of England! Back in the summer of 2013, whilst doing a little bjtnof office cleaning, he accidently put his hard drive to one side, and his then girlfriend thought it to be rubbish and took it to the local municipal dump. The hard drive is now thought to be sitting in a landfill in Newport, and Mr Howells has appealed to the council for permission to search for the storage device – even offering 25 per cent, around £52.5 million, of the value of the Bitcoin – however this was refused.

In a bid to carry out his search, Mr Howells has contacted engineers, environmentalists and data recovery experts, including one who worked with NASA. But still Newport county council have refused access to the site to allow a thorough search.
While this is the definition of "finding a needle in a haystack", things could be worse for James. Thanks to knowing dates, times and how the rotation of dumping works on the massive site, Jamesnin confident that his hard drive sits somewhere within a 200 sqM area of the dump..... Now, this seems like a small area, but it could also be up to 12m deep by now!!
Thats a shit tonne of ummmm... shit!! Pun intended.
>"I'm asking them for a three-month feasibility study so we could sit down outline our plans and they could put forward their concerns and we can answer them, but they won't give me that."

Now only time will tell if hes allowed to go searching. My gut feeling is that if the council have refused thus far, the answer will continue to be a resounding **NO**
If anything materialises with this story, ill keep you all in the loop.
