My impressions of the film Frequency

I wanted to share with you my research, comments and the story of the movie that we watched with my family last week. I will share my occasional comments about the movies I watched on this page. My comments about the movie are as follows;

Time travel and intervention in the past are at the top of the narratives that science fiction most enjoys to tamper with. H.G. Since the Time Machine written by Wells in 1895, countless films and novels have focused on the subject; it seems that the discard will continue. Because the curiosity and charm at the core of the subject always succeeds in maintaining its vitality with the guidance of current scientific developments. Although its counterpart has been overshadowed by major motion pictures, Gregory Hoblit's 2000-release Frequency has also taken its place in history as one of the most notable examples of this theme.

The movie, starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel, attracted so much attention that it was later adapted into a 13-episode television series. In the movie, John Sullivan, a successful police officer, was communicating with his father, who died years ago, through an old radio, and was trying to prevent his death. However, as can be predicted, every change it created in the past caused the future to take on a completely different course. Here is the story of Durante la tormenta, dated 2018, directed by Oriol Paulo, which is quite similar to this one. The only difference is that this time, the device that enables communication with the past is not a radio, but a television.

Vera Roy is a nurse who devoted her life to her husband and little daughter. As they are excited to build a happy home in their newly relocated home, things start to get more and more awkward with the appearance of an old television and camera left by the previous owners of the house. Because she realizes that she can communicate directly with the child in the images that were apparently recorded 25 years ago. Moreover, this mysterious situation gets even stranger when the boy learns that he will be killed soon. Upon this, Vera Roy gives information from the future with a very "humane" and "innocent" decision and prevents the child from dying. However, this decision results in him waking up to a completely different next day.

The child's intervention into the past by saving his life leads to the disappearance of his daughter, whom he loves more than his life, and the birth of a reality in which he never married his wife. The painful mother, who has now lost her child and whose home is in shambles, must correct her mistake before the mysterious storm that enables communication between times has passed. However, over time, the price of playing games will be heavy ...

Written by director Oriol Paulo with Lara Sendim, Durante la tormenta is one of the most successful recent works in the rising Spanish cinema. He reveals a pleasant story with his knit-by-loop fiction and his blending of science fiction and detective right in his decision. Maybe it is not original in terms of the subject it deals with, but it manages to impress us by flavoring a familiar dish with the spices it sprinkles. It is worth mentioning that it is an oasis in the desert, especially for those who complain about the quality of original Netflix content.

In addition, the film refrains from falling into the usual traps while putting complex themes such as time travel and changing reality at its center. Rather than creating temporal cycles and confining the audience in a small section, it literally captures it with an unfolding plot. Even with the effect of this scenario ingenuity, even the occasional slow pace and confusing details do not allow you to break away from the flow. Moreover, thanks to the natural performance of actors such as Adriana Ugarte, Chino Darín, Javier Gutiérrez and Álvaro Morte, the equation of romance and tension is not broken for a moment.

As a result, I was very impressed with the movie. Some of his scenes made me feel like I was in the movie. This movie touched me deeply. I recommend you to watch.
